Volbox inline audio volume control attenuator 3.5mm 1/8" aux

This review is for "Volbox inline audio volume control attenuator 3.5mm 1/8" aux". I purchased this volume control to use with a few AM/FM radios that were designed in such a way that the volume was either muted or too loud. With the Volbox control set up inline between my headphones and the radio, I was able to bring the volume from the radio down to a much more appropriate level. The Volbox is very simple and effective. It's important to note that this little device does not make the audio louder than what is being output by the source - it's meant only for adjusting the volume to be as loud as or quieter than the source volume. The only complaint I have about it is that it feels a bit fragile, and I worry that eventually the 3.5mm jacks could come loose. But for now it works nicely.

I'm using this as a hand controlled volume pedal for various effect pedals that I use with my synth. Works wonderfully. I really love the smoothness, the subtle amount of resistance it has while turning, and the small form factor. As I saw others mentioning, you can still hear a tiny, tiny bit of the sound on the lowest setting, but for my needs it doesn't really matter. The cuteness of this thing accommodates for that.

I wanted a volume control with finer adjustment then the one I'm using. I bought this because the reviews were very good and glad I did. It works very well. It's small and feels solid and well-made. The knob turns with just the right amount of resistance for me. I can adjust the volume in much smaller increments then what I've been using. That's why I bought it. One thing though, I wish it came with a larger volume knob, a small complaint. The pot has a 4mm shaft, so I ordered a larger knob from another vendor. All in all, it does a very good job.

I wanted to control the volume of my THX PC-powered speakers close to where I sit, rather than reaching with my arm every time something plays too loud on YouTube or when I wanted to listen to my music louder. This is the perfect solution! It is tiny, requires the size of two postal stamps (if you remember what a stamp is), and it works well. I connected the input of the device to the output port from my PC, then connected the output of the device to the input of my powered speakers. I set the volume control of my powered speakers to 75% and I can control the sound coming out of my PC using this tiny gem!. I also ordered two 10 feet male-male 3.5mm audio cables so I can hide the cables, and be able to position the device wherever I want without distance restriction. In terms of sound quality: I don't hear any hiss or hum in the speakers when using the device. The volume control knob is smooth to rotate and the sound lever response is clear and sounds great. I absolutely recommend it.

Easy to set up. Works great with earbuds. No more clicking buttons to turn volume up or down on computer or laptop. (yay) I am ordering another one. :) I use it to watch movies, or stream shows whenever I want to. Using earbuds. *JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE Volume UP on what you are watching on screen AND Volume UP on Computer, Laptop, Tablet, etc. If those volumes are set low or muted, you will not hear anything from the VOLBOX.

I had a bit of trouble finding this, but it works great for adjusting the volume on my headphones.

It does exactly what I bought it for: smoothly regulate the volume of my headphones although the source (record player preamp) is a little too loud and cannot be regulated well. The volume knob feels good, smooth regulation, no scratching noises. Audio quality is not noticeably reduced even when testing with very good headphones. My only criticism: You have to press quite hard to insert the headphones and the connector cable into the jack. That seems to be a rather cheap component.
