I was way too quick to criticize. It takes a couple of minutes for the bulbs to adjust to the current lighting conditions. After going back outside after writing this review, all bulbs were off and they have come on each evening since and are just beautiful!Just got these bulbs today and installed them on my new outdoor lights. In the middle of the day, they are all on. There is no visible photocell on these bulbs, so not sure how they could possibly sense light. They're going back. UGH.

Have been using these bulbs for over a year on the front of two garages and they're great. The bulbs will not light up or go out at the exact same moment, but they do come on within a few minutes of each other. If I pull in the driveway and the light from my headlights shines on one, it will go out, but comes right back on. I'm going to buy more and put them in all of my outdoor lights.

These things are blindingly bright and the dusk to dawn function works great. Highly recommend

The light bulbs work - going on at dusk and off at dawn, and the two lights illuminate the front of my garage. You'll get at least two years from these bulbs - that's a long time!

Works as advertised.The question is... what is its longevity?I've had this product less than a week.

I installed these bulbs in an outdoor carriage post lamp with 3 enclosed fixtures. The system has a sophisticated timer that is supposed to figure out sunrise and sunset based on tge location you input. Problem is I can’t figure it out. So I installed these instead. They come on and shut off in perfect sync with dark/light. On sunny days the bulb that’s furtherest west in the trio comes on last (by about 15 minutes) but it’s a minor issue and far easier than the timer system that is impossible to understand. They are sufficiently bright - almost too bright since there are 3 bulbs in the fixture. I can’t speak to longevity as they have been installed only a month. I also can’t speak to how they hold up in extreme cold or heat. Time will tell. But so far I’m pleased enough to smile when I see them all on.

There are no photo cells on this bulb, they are just nice lightbulbs, but not particularly useful as automated porch lights without a photo cell. Just to verify, I installed one in direct sunlight and it turned on like a regular bulb. I have other non-Edison photo bulbs that work, they just aren’t pretty.
