Age range listed is too young for the difficulty of the book
Based upon the reviews of the authors other books, I decided to check this book out from the library instead of buying it. I thought it would be appropriate for an almost three year old. The age range listed is 2-5 years old. However, this book is way too hard. My son is very bright, yet he had a very difficult time finding the pairs, and I don't blame him. I added a picture showing the bear page. I think looking at it you can see just how hard it would be for even a smart three year old to find the pair. He can find ones with the same scarf and then doesn't understand why those are not considered the pair. I would consider a more appropriate age range to be 5-8 maybe?

Excellent spotting book!
I'm so impressed by this author. The books that I've seen by her have been so well thought out, with such colorful and cheerful pictures. This spotting book is fun and challenging for little ones. (Hint: the pictures on the last page will help find the correct pair if it's a bit too difficult for a little one to find).

This book is awesome! My 4 and 5 year olds love hidden pictures, I-spy books, that kinda thing. This book is actually really challenging - they found "the pair" a few times before I did. Cute, short rhymes to go with each page. My 4 year old only likes to do a few pages at a time, whereas the 5 year old would love it if this book had 100 pages.

fun book
Granddaughter and I had fun looking for the pairs. Some of them are fairly easy; some are fairly difficult. It's a book that you won't read a whole lot of times but you will be glad you bought and will look forward to passing it down to the next little one.

3 year old loves it!
My 3 year old has loved "The Odd One Out" since she was two. She loves this one just as much. It is a little more difficult than the other book but she found the pairs with a little bit of help.

A winner!
Colorful pages. My grandson (4) loves this type of book. We have read it over and over, despite knowing where mist of the matches are. It is challenging and interesting.

Challenging
I bought these last year for my then 3 year old granddaughter. She loved it then and still does. She's taken to challenging her older siblings to find the pairs, and is delighted to find they can't always do it. There have been many discussions about why some don't match. It does really test their observation and cognitive skills.

Good perceptions!
I bought this book potentially for a 3 year old - and when it arrived I struggled to find some of the pairs myself at first, so perhaps I'll keep it in the cupboard till my granddaughter gets to 5 or 6 at least. It is a beautiful book, very well illustrated with some funny pictures. Highly recommended.

Ideal to send to a grandchild
My grandson aged 7 who lives abroad loved receiving these every week, and I enjoyed spotting the pair before I sent it, not easy on some!
