Backup Camera for 2012 Toyota Corolla
I got this to install into a 2012 Toyota Corolla as a backup camera. It came quickly. The camera is in a metal housing and has a generous amount of cable. I found the instructions to be lacking. The English was very poor and the diagrams could have been larger and more clear. I was planning on installing this on the trim piece on the trunk. I found that the camera angle was such that I could only see the top of the bumper. I fabricated a bracket and adjusted the camera so that it has a proper angle. The hole for the mounting bolt will not be big enough to fit the cables. You will have to drill a larger hole and then use a fender washer to mount the backside of the camera because their nut and washer will be too small. I also had a problem with the yellow trigger wire that is supposed to interrupt the radio to go to backup mode. It is part of the video cable and covered by the cable covering.I couldn't get the camera to come on when I put the car in reverse. I decided to bypass this wire and got it working. There must have been a break in the wire somewhere. Otherwise, very good picture in daytime, not so good at night. Very good price for the quality.

very impressed with the images. HD.
This camera is a HD resolution. It's a ccd image sensor. I know compared to my ccd security cameras. It not washed during daylight like my previous one came with the andriod head unit. Colors are very good or I can great during day and night. The guide is centered if installed in the center of the back of the car. But mine is slightly off the the right side cuz I can't install it in the center due to the trunk release button switch. No big deal. I just have to remember the right edge of the guide lines is right edge of the car. Simple. I like this camera a lot since is HD. I say the resolution would be like 720p not quite 1080 depending on the screen monitor I guess but my andriod HU is capable of displaying 1080 when playing videos. This mount to the spot that was designed for stock back up camera I just drilled a hole big enough for the threadestem on the camera. Looks factory-installed. Black color blend with the dark color cars.

Works great with JOYING head unit but ....
There are things I like a lot and then there are some things that would be nice to have included. Overall I am pleased with the purchase and certainly won't return it. I installed this on a '99 Toyota Camry with a JOYING headunit and replaced a camera that was installed over the licence plate. Vehicle Backup Camera, Esky Rear View Camera Waterproof High Definition Color Wide Viewing Angle License Plate Car Camera with 7 Infrared Night Vision LED . I really like the look of this camera after installation as it looks very much like it came from the factory.... very clean and doesn't stand out like the one I swapped out. I liked the special cable it comes with both video and backup signal in one installation and only needing to run a single cable from the rear to the front whereas with the other product I had to run the video and backup signal. The camera picture is good enough resolution and color in day lighting. I will post a night picture view later to see how it looks at night. The down side is the fixed angle the camera is set at. It would be nice for them to supply a couple small wedges so we could change the camera tilt angle. I will have to find something to wedge in the bottom of the camera to lift the angle up. You can see from my pictures that the bumper of the Toyota sticks about halfway into the camera view which I would prefer to be much less like I got with my former camera that was adjustable. With the current angle you can see the orange bucket appears to touch the bumper in the cam view when in fact it is about 13 inches away. It would also be nice to remove the color grids like some of the others choices allow you to do. Neither issue is a deal breaker. When I first installed the camera my JOYING reported no signal. After a lot of troubleshooting It turns out the custom connector wasn't fully seated. It sure looked like it was but simply pulling the plug out and re-seating it fully solved the problem

Super useful new tech for an old car!
I installed this on my 23 year old Bronco, now my truck is all fancy like them new fangled cars.Took a while to find the right position on my truck. Finally installed it at the front edge of the bottom of my step bumper and used vice grips to bend that portion up just a little. Now, I get a GREAT view of whatever is behind me in full color, day or night!!! It even has guides to help you gauge the distance of closer objects.Don't be an idiot, though, you still need to look to sides and turn around to get a good look behind you. But as I use it more and more, I get more accustomed to it and it becomes more and more useful. And the price is RIGHT!
