This crimper die set works with the smallest of open barrel (stamped and formed) connectors. Nicely made. Not just stamped pieces of metal, but precision ground. They are more expensive than the cheapest, but MUCH cheaper than most of the dedicated crimpers out there. Unlike the dedicated crimpers, you must do two crimps, one for the wire and one for the insulation support. I guarantee that you will ruin a few pins/sockets until you get the hang of it, but pins and sockets are cheap. The results are excellent.These fit the PAD-10 frame. There are three die sets, this being the smallest. The other die sets are PAD-12S and PAD-13S. The PAD-13s has sizes 2.5, 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 and 3.7 mm. The PAD 12-S has the three smallest of the PAD-13S and three largest of the PAD-11S. This is so that you don't have to change die sets if the two crimps required by a pin/socket would otherwise be on different die sets. It depends on how often you use the tool whether or not it is worth the extra purchase.The complete PAD-10 tools (with dies) have the respective model numbers: PAD-11, PAD-12 and PAD-13 from small to large.I could not find the PAD-13S so I bought a PAD-13 and the PAD-11S to cover the range.
