Braided Stainless Steel Security Cable, 7 ft. x 3/8 in

I've been using 2 of these on a sailing yacht for 3 months now. So a good chance for them to have gone rusty. But nothing yet, and they seem pretty well constructed.

I use this to secure my bike when it is stored in my garage. It is simple to use and gives me the peace of mind that I won't be losing bike to someone when my garage door is not closed.

Ends not sealed well to exclude moisture.

Be careful. This is NOT stainless steel as advertised. It is just braided steel, but not stainless steel. I confirmed that with a magnet. My magnet stuck to it which it should not have done. The item package clearly states braided steel, but the sticker added by the supplier says "STAINLESS STEEL". This is a $5 Harbor Freight item relabeled as stainless. What a rip off.

Prouct is Misrepresented: 1) Cable is not 7, but 6 1/2 feet (loop tip - loop tip), 2) Cable itself is not 3/8 inch, but closure to 1/4 inch. Only measures 3/8 inch when plastic coating is included. 3) This is a STRANDED not a BRAIDED cable. Security cables are generally braided, making it more difficult to cut. Per prior reviews, there is also a concern that this is a poor grade of stainless (if it is stainless ?), making it less secure. Upon receipt of this product, I determined to stay with my standard 6 ft. "Master Lock" braided steel security cable; which is thicker and has a much more formittable appearence. Bunker Hill should stop giving false info about this product !!

This item was described as being 7 ft long, not close. More like 4 ft long.

This is the second one we purchased to use with a dorm room safe, as we now have two kids in college!
