Screwpine or pandan leaf is well known in preparations of traditional cakes among Malaysians, also as flavouring and fragrance. It is also used in preparing traditional bath or ointment. Almost all houses in Malaysian villages have pandan planted in their compound. This plant can grow easily in damp and wet area. Some people use as fragrance in their car or finely chop the leaves to be used in customary rituals in Malay weddings.
