Can I use SF4 staples?

I’m not sure what size staples would work in this. Mine never worked, unfortunately.

I am redoing a leather chair. Will this stapler do the job of going through several laters of leather into wood?

Use a pneumatic stapler for the best and easiest way to get good results when redoing leather on furniture. It's difficult but not impossible to squeeze a hand-powered stapler while you stretch and hold the leather in place but with an air-powered stapler, you just point and shoot. Set the air compressor at 70 to 80 psi, too much air pressure will shoot the staple through the material. Areas where the fabric is doubled up, such as the corners, might require another 10 psi to shoot the staple through both layers. This is a light duty stapler and while the larger 3/8-inch staples that it accepts might work for a job like this, it will be hard work squeezing the trigger of the stapler and getting the staple to go in all the way for a good hold. A large chair will get your hand tired pretty fast - especially if you have to do staples over because the previous one didn't go in far enough because you didn't push hard enough in the first place. You will get frustrated and cranky if you use too light a tool for the job.
