LEATHERMAN, MOLLE Compatible X-Large Nylon Sheath for Multitools, Fits MUT, Surge, and Super Tool 300, Black

I bought this with the intention of carrying a Leatherman Charge TTI tool, 2 bit kit trays, the bit extender, and a single cell flashlight. It comes close, but doesn't quite work for me. It seems sewn like a tank, and the belt loop options are great. However, it doesn't quite work as well as other Leatherman sheaths for my needs. First, the excellent belt attachment. There are four short horizontal straps (MOLLE, but I'm no expert on that) and a long vertical strap with a button. Weaving the vertical strap through the horizontal ones lets you create the belt loop thickness and placement you want. When I wove the vertical strap under the first and fourth horizontal ones, the resulting belt loop was perfect for vertical carrying - secure and low enough to not dig into my hip. Second - the velcro on the front is secure, yet the pull tab is big enough so that opening is easy as pie.The Charge fits in the main pocket - its deep, so there is some wasted space on top, but the design of the sheath is such that it's still very easy to get the multitool out quickly. The Charge is sllightly loose, but adding one bit kit tray makes it a secure, excellent fit. In front of the main pocket, there are two accessory slots - the second is neatly tucked between the velcro and the nylon. Each can fit one bit kit tray, but I could not get a bit kit tray in both at the same time - the nylon was too tight. I do not own a Surge, but I believe they are designed to hold the Surge saw/file blades, which are thinner than a bit kit tray. The alternative is to put one bit kit tray in a slot, and the other in the back main tool area, along with the Charge. However, it's impratical for actual use - everytime I went to put the Charge back in, the bit kit seems to move around and get in the way (unless, of course, I used two hands). The side elastics are very beefy and compress the sheath well. A AAA single cell flashlight (Inova XS) fits in the side if desired, as can the bit extender (although it will fall through if not clipped in). My AA single cell (Inova X1) would not fit it - perhaps if I worked in the elastic it might.

Love it. Bought to replace a 4" Leatherman Molle sheath that blew out at the bottom with my Surge. The extra half inch (for 4.5") on this XL sheath is perfect. The sheath has SO MANY different pockets, slits,and straps, and is made with great thought and quality.I can fit both Leatherman bit paddles, my extension, two extra saw blades and two replacement files (each pair in the handy vinyl sleeves they come in, then slid into one of the many easily accessible pockets). At the same time, the sheath also holds a Bic lighter, a striker, a pen light, AND I STILL HAVE ROOM FOR MORE! Very happy with this product. I followed the idea from another reviewer and put a dabb of Shoe Goo around the drain eyelet on the bottom of the sheath. In my smaller 4" one, the eyelet fell out immediately and facilitated in Gian hole that eventually appeared. Even though this XL Molle Sheath seems to be built with better quality, I figured I wouldn't take a chance and used the Shoe Goo. Very happy :)

I was looking for a sheath for my Leatherman super tool.After many years of service, the Velcro doesn't work anymore, and my tool has worn a hole in the bottom of the sheath.One of my Leatherman tools came with a leather case and a snap to keep the cover closed. The snap was hard to close. I finally bought a aftermarket case.When I decided to purchase a new case, I wanted to stay away from the snap and I wanted the Velcro closure.Pros for this sheathThis sheath seems to be built well.The loop to attach to the belt is not bulkyThis sheath has a lot more Velcro that my original sheath. So it take a considerable more effort to open the flap compared to my last sheath. The Velcro on this sheath should last much longer than my original sheath.Cons for this sheathThis sheath has a long loop that goes around your belt. The loop is at least 6" (I didn't measure it). So every time I went to open the flap and remove the tool- the sheath would slide upwards until the bottom of the loop came in contact with my belt. I found this to be inconvenience and annoying.I returned this sheath and bought a nylon sheath with a snap. S far is is working fine.

When I got my EOD MUT, it was encased in the Coyote Tan sheath. Odd. The description of the product (not at Amazon) said it included a black sheath. So, what gives? Apparently many of the MUTs were shipped with the tan sheath so you get what you get. Rather than go through the hassle of returning the whole thing and re-ordering elsewhere, I decided to dye the one I had to black. Mistake. Even using a quality dye and following the instructions to a "T", the results produced a mostly black with an almost silver cover flap. I guess the quality of waterproofing is better than I thought. In any case, I then decided to order the black sheath (as it matches what I attach the MUT to much better than the tan). Yeah. I added another few dollars to the price of the rig, but it was worth it. Same quality, same functionality and it blends in now. Not wearing desert tan camo? This may be what you need.

This monstrosity is built to survive a supernova explosion. It easily fits my Wave+, both bit sleeves, AND the ratcheting extension with space to spare for a Bushnell flashlight.This is the holster to get for your Leatherman.Just remember… it’s a chunky monkey!

Le Leatherman est un investissement à long terme qui vaut le coup pour son qualité et sa durabilité. Les outils sont solides et bien pensés, avec des superlatifs. Mon seul bémol est le poids, qui peut être un peu lourd pour porter à la taille lors de l'éveil ou du coucher. Cependant, la solidité et l'efficacité en valent la peine. C'est vraiment excellent.
