I don't know why dentists don't recommend their patients use this instrument after flossing to get what flossing didn't get the first time. This instrument is used for getting out tartar along your gum line where the flossing doesn't work. Use it regularly while you're young and you might not lose any teeth in old age!!

It is very tricky to do the business like this: it priced $5.93 for this item, but when received the item, the box including three amount, which is not what amount I wanted. so I decide to return it, you know what? it said that this is not returnable. I just received today and wanted to return it right away since i don't like to tricked for the things i don't want buy. I will never buy any thing from this dishonesty company/seller.

A couple of years ago my gums were very bad. The dentist told me start flossing and gum massage or I would Need deep cleaning. So I got a waterpik, and this gum massager and used both diligently and voila - gums Improved dramatically. Six months ago I lost my gum stimulator but continued with electric toothbrush and waterpik. Last week at the dentist - oh so bad, the hygienist said. Deep cleaning, she said. I said let's see in three months - I promise ill do better. So I've bought three of these, and we will see in three months what the hygienist says. My gums are already feeling better after a week of using it. Ill try and update this again in October.

I hate flossing but I do it anyway. I actually should say, I "hated" flossing. The time it takes annoys me and it seems like my gums still bled everytime anyway. Now I floss, use this to stimulate my gums and then brush. This tool is awesome. My gums like it. They aren't bleeding now and I get more out with this thing because it goes around the whole tooth not just in between. I really like it a lot enough to use it every day. I actually look forward to using it. My teeth feel really clean now.

I've had the plastic braces for two months now, and the Butler G.U.M. Gum Stimulator is part of the (extensive) tooth-care rituals I do every day. First, here's a collection of what I've learned about tooth care: The plaque that forms on our teeth will eventually become hardened, as "tartar," but it starts out as a thin, fragile coating over the teeth. This layer of plaque can be disrupted easily by gentle brushing with a soft toothbrush. However--and here's where the Butler G.U.M. thingie is useful--the plaque also forms under the gumline, where a toothbrush can't reach it. And, flossing, while necessary for dislodging plaque and food bits between the teeth, doesn't reach under the gumline at the middle of the tooth. So it's in this little area where neither brushing nor flossing is effective that the Butler Gum Stimulator performs as a perfect product.The Butler G.U.M. Gum Stimulator is well-made. The metal handle fits well in the hand and doesn't slip or rotate without permission. The flexible tip narrows down to a fine point that fits easily and comfortably under the gumline. After my last meal of the day, I floss and brush my teeth, then put a dab of toothpaste on my left hand and dip the Gum Stimulator into the toothpaste, then gently glide it along under the gumline on the outside of the teeth and then on the inside, especially on the lower front teeth where tartar builds up fastest.The flexible tips for the Gum Stimulator are availabe separately as replacements, but I'm still using the one that came on the product and see no signs of it deteriorating, after weeks of use.

I was given my first GUM Stimulator by my dental hygienist. I have since purchased more stimulators and many, many more replacement tips. This is a wonderful device, that almost seems to become a little addictive. It just feels great to keep the gums firm and clean the space between the teeth. The price on Amazon is better than any drug store in my area. I recommend purchasing here.

I wish I would have bought this before I used a metal plaque picker around my gums.I wouldn't have cut myself. I accidentally cut deep inside my gum while cleaning around my tooth with a metal plaque picker. Long story short. Inflammation went everywhere around my mouth. Alot of dentist I called didn't even have an irrigation machine to irrigate down where I cut my gum to stop the irritation. So you can understand the stress and pain level I've been through. Now, I've found a periodontist who has an irrigation machine & will irrigate the area for me. Thank God.My Word of Advice: Never, ever use a metal plaque picker to clean around your gums. Use a rubber picker, like this one instead. It's much safer and will save you a lot of money in the long run. Either have a dentist clean the plaque off your teeth or use a rubber tip. Cause we all know how expensive it is to even go to the dentist.I've been through so many dentist who don't know what they're doing, I've grown a phobia to them. It's even hard for me to go to the periodontist. But I have to go to stop the irritation. But the phobia is still there.

I thought I ordered more than one to give to all my family, but must not have pushed enter. S/H was figured separately for the pick and refill, even though they were from the same source and came together. Would have liked to buy a package of several plus refills in same package. It is a wonderful product. I have looked all over to avoid shipping and haven't found them. Everyone needs these rubber toothpicks. Use them and you will see why!!

My husband swears by this for his gum health.
