The Boston Globe Sunday Crossword Omnibus, Volume 1

Great value for hours and hours of brain stretching puzzles.
The only thing I dislike about this book is that some of the ink seems to have bled between letters making it difficult to discern a clue here and there. Other than that I love it. I’m a big fan of the LA Times Sunday Omnibus series but have worked through all those. Boston and Chicago are the next on my list.

I find many of the clues to be way too easy, and too many of the answers are obscure ...
Are these reviews lumped together for all the volumes? I'm reviewing volume 1, and it is glued, not spiral, and 200 puzzles, not 50, as some previous reviews state.I'm not particularly thrilled with these puzzles. For one thing, the printing is not sharp, causing characters to run together. I find many of the clues to be way too easy, and too many of the answers are obscure facts (type of grass used to thatch African huts?). I much prefer the other way around -- common answers to obscure or clever clues.

A Must-Have For Quarantine!
This book got me through the first 2 months of lockdown. Don't know what I would have done without it. The 3 greatest puzzlers of the present day--Rathven, Hook, and Cox--kept me sane--and are still doing so every Sunday in the Sunday Globe. We owe much of what remains of our grey matter to them.

Clues nearly unreadable!
This is the worst printing job for a crossword puzzle book that i have ever seen.. the clues are nearly unreadable as the type face makes a small case i look like an ell, especially if they are right next to each other.. you need a damn magnifying glass to see the difference between and a and an o... I'll never buy another book from the Boston Globe!

Challenging, but with a sense of humor
I’ve solved Washington Post crossword puzzles for years, and am glad to find another publisher/paper with a similar style. The puzzles are definitely a challenge, but can be solved since they don’t include a lot of archaic or “dictionary” things. The humor included is always a treat. I strongly recommend the crossword puzzles from the Boston Globe!

Nice unit
Nice puzzles, slightly different style than the New York Times or LA Times.
