New 56K V.92/V.90 External USB Fax Modem

they do not include the proper Linux drivers on the disk i was able to find instructions on Ubuntu forums on how to modify a and combine 2 different drivers to make one working driver for this modem and get it working for Ubuntu 12.04 but when i reformatted and installed Ubuntu 14.04 i forgot to save those files and they are no longer available anywhere on the net that i can find.

Sister was having trouble with her dial up. After using this, it works on her computer, so it was her modem. I didn't have anything to plug the phone line im my computer. With this usb adapter, just plug it in and load the drivers. I don't remember the order, but follow the directions. It works fine. Makes you wonder why are we spending $s for dial up. It is dial up, so don't expect it to be fast. It is only faster if you don't have to share the line with many users.

Lasted less than a year. I had constant problems with this modem and would not recommend it to anyone.Conexant provides NO support on their webpage, no driver downloads and seems to have moved on from making horrible modems to making other horrible stuff, no doubt.If it works, then great. If it doesn't then you are up a creek with no support, no driver support, nothing.

This does not work with any voicemail software that I have found!!!! It will not send a greeting out over the phone line for Windows vista, 7 or 8. Don't waste your money!! You can get as good a price for a reputable manufacturers product. This is a Conexant product and is manufactured in China
