Wonderful Coffee
I have bought this coffee several times from vendors on Amazon. I just wish my Publix grocery store sold it and the price was cheaper. We drink it hot or cold. We enjoy our coffee on the mild side and the 17.6 oz bag lasts awhile since we probably use less than other people. I try to have it available whenever we have guests. Someone always compliments on the great taste. I have also given a bag as a gift to the coffee lovers we know. I am doing it again this Christmas.I triple the dry amount and make a stronger brew when I drink it cold. I use one-half gallon of fat-free milk and divide into two half gallon glass containers. Walmart sells ones that slide easily into the side of my refrigerator for less than five dollars apiece. I use my coffee-maker to brew a large pot of the stronger coffee and add it to the containers. I also use 4 droppers of the liquid Sweet Leaf Chocolate stevia (I have found it the cheapest at Vitacost.com) to keep the calories down. I don't like using artificial sweeteners and am really trying to limit the white sugar in my diet. The drink gives me enough of a buzz to make it through the afternoon without wanting a Coke or something else. Now I know it is not like drinking a mocha frappuccino from Starbucks but, for me, it is a great substitute and a lot less expensive. I also like the mild caramel after-note that I taste with this coffee when I drink it cold. It is handy to have onhand when I need something fast -AND- the two half-gallons last me all week. I have also tried substituting peppermint stevia and that is nice, too.

The BEST coffee
This is my absolute favorite coffee. I prefer a light, smooth coffee flavor and this is perfect. I won’t buy any other brand since I discovered this one.

Keep some in the pantry
Very good medium roast ground coffee. Long shelf life so great to keep on hand. Decaf is very good too.

Nice flavor for a change of pace.
We enjoy this brand. We typically drink the big name brand that starts with an F, this definitely has a nicer, smother flavor. We were trying to match up to whatever brand Cheddar's serves as we love their coffee. This one's close.

Not the Same as in the Restaurant
You went to a nice restaurant and had the best cup of coffee E-V-E-R. Not bitter, a little nutty hint, no bad after taste, yum! So good in fact, that you asked your server what kind of coffee it was. They gladly went to inquire and came back to tell you that it is Douwe Egberts. You couldn't wait to get on Amazon to order your own for home use. After you brewed your first pot or cup, the disappointment set in. Why doesn't it taste the same? Well, I'll tell you why, because the restaurant uses a liquid form of the coffee and a machine that automatically adds hot water to it at a preset amount.I have cracked the secret though. Buy your Douwe Egberts coffee, then cold press it. If you don't know how to do that search Google or YouTube.I made my 2nd batch by cold press and let it sit for just over 24 hours. The resulting concentrated coffee, mixed with hot water in a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio, depending on your taste, will be as close as you can get without buying the expensive machine that automatically mixes it. If you add creamer, use real cream or half & half. The powdered stuff will not taste as good.If you like your coffee cold, pouring the concentrate straight over ice is awesome.

My favorite coffee.
I love Douwe Egberts coffee! It's by far my favorite. It is smooth and full flavored. It is never bitter. I have found this coffee by accident many times in my life so now I buy it. Each time I am out having coffee and have "the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time" it turns out when I ask "what kind of coffee is this?" it's always Douwe Egberts. From a hotel in Billings, Montana to a country club in Geneva, NY to a B&B in Glasgow, Scotland. I'm so glad I am able to order the Aroma Rood since it is the specific coffee I had in Scotland. It's more expensive than the brands I find at the grocery stores but the flavor is worth it. I save it for my weekend coffee so I have the chance to drink it and enjoy it. Not drink it on the go. I highly recommend this coffee.
