Nice looking, low quality
These looked like good stakes when they arrived. Nice packaging. After the first use two were bent. Second use, more bent. Third use one snapped while trying to pull out of the ground. The dirt was semi-hard underneath with no rocks. I have some ground hogs that I've used for years. These are much lower quality.

MSR Groundhogs are better.
Fine for soft ground or very careful use. However, I have these and other similar generic stakes, but all of them soon bend badly while my MSR Groundhogs are still straight and strong after many years of use.

THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE MADE WELL BUT THE HEAD BROKE OFF ON ...
NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE MADE WELL BUT THE HEAD BROKE OFF ON ONE JUST HAMMERING INTO HARDPACK DIRT IN UTAH. 2 OTHERS HAVE BENT AT THE SAME SPOT. I HAVE HAMMERED MY MSR STAKES INTO SIMILAR DIRT FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD THAT KIND OF FAILURE. SPEND THE EXTRA $'S AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE OF FAILURE IN THE FIELD WHEN THE WIND IS HOWLING AND YOU NEED GOOD GEAR!

Softer application required.
Well, the first one I used bent immediately when pounding it into the ground with a tent stake hammer. Later we found the stronger MSR stake also bent in the same ground it was the ground. Tried it again down the road a piece and after a few uses and another one bent in forest dirt. So If I was to use these on grass I think I would have no problems but when the terrain changes density where we go I would recommend something stronger in that case. Otherwise its a aluminum tent stake for next to nothing it's better than the sticks that come with most tents and tarps.

Best buy
These are miles above the stock pegs you getBut they are slightly weak when pounding into gravel/stone mixCouple of heads bent but still usable so farThat said...they grip really wellInexpensive to leave behind and most of all lightweightReflective cord pulls are convenientYou'll spend far more on the brand name...but would t get better resultsThose heads bend tooExperienced campers know when to stop pounding a stakeAnd move it a bitThose that keep pounding have no clue how to back off when something is obstructed...like a huge granite stoneBuy these..buy 2 sets...you'll get years out of them and save bigtime

Surprisingly Strong - Feather Light - Good Price
I was dubious of these stakes when I received them, they seemed extremely light and fragile upon first impression. However I have found them to be quite strong and efficient, due I think to their triangular design. I have driven them into some pretty stony, hard ground with no problems and they have remained stable in some quite stout breezes while stabilizing the poles that support my lightweight shade sails. I believe that their strength and lightweight would make them a great choice for backpackers. Warning - when extracting these from the ground pull them straight back, pulling at an angle in hard ground can bend them. Otherwise I find them an ideal item and the supplied bag and cord loops are handy.

Fantastic Stakes, would buy again
These are great stakes, love the color as well. A couple things to know:-These are aluminum. They won't bend as much as steel, but they will break if you bend them too much. That's the tradeoff with aluminum stakes, lighter but doesn't bend much. these are good quality, this is just something to bear in mind with aluminum.-They aren't a transition color like the picture shows, they are solid blue. A very nice shade though!-The loop on top is ridiculously reflective. Never worry about tripping over a stake at night.I love these and would buy again in a heartbeat. I used them for a hammock rainfly in high winds and they held perfectly.

in good condition, without excessive wasteful plastic packaging
Arrived early, in good condition, without excessive wasteful plastic packaging. Item is just as expected and came in a nice little lightweight drawstring bag. Haven't used in backpacking, rainy or windy conditions yet and shall try to update if that adds useful information. While these are definitely not the absolute lightest, most durable nor cheapest available, so far they seem like a great ratio of cost to durability to lightweight-ed-ness. I like that they can be pushed into at least moderately rocky ground with just my feet, without damaging them, since I can't see inviting anything resembling a rubber mallet along on backpacking trip. And in my somewhat limited past experience, even a few extra stakes with guy line [and for more extreme conditions, below tree line in wooded areas, an lightweight tarp] is a pretty inexpensive, easy way to improve your tent's performance in rainy or windy conditions. Happy Outdoorsing Everyone!
