Blehchef: mediocre, but does okay (I think)
After many hours of reading reviews of other mats, specifically the WonderKitchen Silicone Baking Mat Set , I decided to go with these because I very often use half sheets (and sometimes two at a time) and I wasn't sure I'd even use the round mat that came with the WonderKitchen set; I usually make my pizza crusts larger than 14" diameter. But I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest. These mats are a bit of a hassle to clean and to store, as they're very slippery and can only really "go" anywhere if they're rolled up. And I feel a little paranoid when I'm rolling them up, taking care to be very gentle, as I'm worried about somehow breaking the fiberglass inside and thereby ruining the mats forever. The fact that they use fiberglass anyway is a little disconcerting, but it seems to be a ubiquitous feature for silicone baking mats so I decided to go for it anyway.I use these baking sheets . After lining the bottom of one with the orange mat for baking tater tots at 450 degrees for 35 minutes, the mat had discolored: it looked like it had burnt. Please see the attached photos. I had read several times that these withstand temperatures up to 482 degrees, so I don't understand why this happened. I figured at some point down the line--after extensive use--this would occur, but I didn't think it would on the very first try. I've also used the same mat and the red mat for the exact same food (tater tots) on the exact same temperature for around the same amount of time (sometimes longer others shorter) to test (and because I love tater tots) and the discoloration hasn't occurred on the red mat nor has it increased the amount of discoloration on the orange mat. I've used the green mat for cooking gardein chicken tenders at 435 degrees for ten minutes and it looks as good as new. I've also used the red mat for baking cookies and it's fine. So...is the orange one just defective?I figure the washing frustrations will abate with practice. For now these mats get the job done and I appreciate not having to wash my pans after every use. However... I'm concerned because, after baking with the orange mat that ended up discoloring the first time, it left behind little mesh marks on my sheets. Is this melted silicone? It rubs off easily enough. But should I be concerned about this? I can't help but wonder if I made a poor investment.I'll make sure to report back with any updates.

Time Saver and So Easy
My daughter is a trained chef and food researcher for a well know agency. She is always cooking and creating new recipes and techniques which she post on social media. One day she posted cheese crackers, perfect and round, light and yummy looking. The crackers were to compliment a soup dish and also as a dipping chip. When I asked her how she accomplished this wonderful looking cracker she told me about the Silchef mats. She simply grated cheese and placed well shaped circles of cheese on the mat. They melted perfectly keeping shape and easy to remove. I ordered a set that night. What a difference they make! So light! I took cookies right out of the oven and into the refrigerator to cool. I made cheese crackers which were so, so easy and delicious. No more sprays, no extra butter or oil and best of all, no washing cooking sheets. I gave one of the sheets to my son who also enjoys baking. His 7 year old daughter loves to paint. His daughter thought the Silchef sheet had a nice ready to go mat around it and decided to paint a picture with her acrylic paints directly on the silicone. I was amazed to actually peel the paint right off the surface of the Silchef before we went to buy my granddaughter a little canvas :)

Is discoloration a given?
Nonstick and easy to clean but turning brown starting at the edges after a couple of weeks usage.Update: This is what happened after 3 months. I estimate that I use the small mat every other day usually to reheat pastries and bake frozen foods in a toaster oven. I wash with regular dish soap using a soft sponge. The mat is totally brown and the colored parts are coming off like glue. I can't use the mat anymore as it gives off a plastic burning smell when the oven heats up.Can I get a refund? For the price, aluminum foil is much cheaper though wasteful. But foil might be less harmful in the landfill than these mats as I don't think they are 100% silicone.9/9/2015 Update: I was surprisingly contacted by the vendor offering a full replacement. I will try the new ones and, hopefully, will have better results. Vendor assured that these mats are 100% silicone.9/7/2016 Update: One year later and the big mats are great for cookies & reheating frozen foods in a convection oven. The mats are NOT made for a toaster oven though, as the second small mat I tested suffered the same fate as the first: browning, peeling & cracking of the colored parts. Also, make sure to always place the mats on a solid tray when baking and not one with any perforation as the mat will discolor at the exposed spots. I'd mistakenly used a tray with drainage slits once; now the mat has light imprints of the slits.

Great product, environmentally friendly
We have used these mats a few times since ordering. We have not used them at temperatures over 415 but they are exactly the same as when they arrived.4 stars is because it is difficult to clean. I am wary to place them in the dishwasher even though it says they are able to be. We also only have a 1/2 dishwasher and we lose the entire top rack to the mats. I have to clean one side and then use my one hand to balance and move around the mat while the other hand cleans because laying it down and cleaning each side on the counter/sink does not seem very clean to me.Edit July 18, 2019: We have been using the red and orange mats every few days and they are not showing any wear. I've noticed there is a slight smell while using the mats in the oven, but they do not show any issues and neither does the food once it is removed.

Good but retains odour of food.
As mentioned by other reviewers, the silicon pads retains the smell of the food even after washing 3 to 4 times. That's a drawback. The delivery was late but it is ok with me as it came from USA. It takes time. Otherwise the packaging was nice, secure and within a secure box. The temperature withstanding capability is really good and it retains its non stickiness even after so many uses. But take care not to use rough knives or sharp objects over it as it will brutally damage the product.

Why didn’t I know about these before!!
I have only used these mats once so far, but my initial impression is very favourable. I get fed up of trying to cook sausages in the oven (my family prefer this to frying them) and trying to prise them off a ‘non stick’ baking tray without tearing them apart. No problem with the mat on the tray- bangers cooked beautifully and no sticking. I then used the smaller one to cook breaded fish pieces in the oven with the same happy result. They washed easily in warm soapy water so I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Will they stand the test of time? Well, I will find out, but at this reasonable price, It is not quite so much of a deciding factor.
