Evergreen Vol. 2

Not sure what happened this volume. We has some early building on multiple plot lines, and then just got hung up on a single one for the remainder of the volume, and the pace was sloooooooooow. Certainly hope the next volume picks back up again.

If you like Toradora or Golden Time then you will love Evergreen.

Worst series ever don't read unless you want a s*** manga

Evergreen came up on Amazon as a manga I might like, so I decided to check it out and it proved an excellent recommendation. This is a wonderful series about the awkwardness, the misunderstandings and occasional triumphs of falling in love. A good touch in this volume was a look into the thoughts of Awaya Niki, the beautiful dream girl adored by protagonist Yoshimatsu Hotaka. We see that this supposedly perfect person has her own insecurities. Hotaka's struggling to decide whether he should try contacting Niki and finally going ahead with it felt so true to life. There is a beautiful scene when Niki and Hotaka realize their mutual feelings for each other. The story proved to be a roller coaster as one minute all seemed to be going well and the next, disaster threatens. If you are looking for a romance with great characters who pull you into their world, Evergreen can be highly recommended.
