Very easy to put together, very useful. PERFECT storage solution for useless barstool alcove.
For what it is, it is wonderful. You cannot expect a super high quality piece of furniture for forty bucks. What you can hope for is straight cuts, well drilled holes, an even finish, and easy instructions to get the whole thing together in a short amount of time. On that scale, this exceeded my expectations. I have a bar area under our island that is too shallow to be used comfortably, it is only 12" deep. What this left me with was a HUGE section of my kitchen island that was not able to be used since it had no storage either. I looked off and on for for two years to find a pre-made solution to no avail; nothing was less that 12" deep. I almost bought two IKEA RAST dressers to fill the space and provide drawer storage, but IKEA discontinued it before I could by them. On a fluke I come across these units in a different section of amazon, I had been looking at kitchen shelves but found these in closet storage. At the time I saw them they were over $65 each do I held off until they dipped below $45 and bought two. These shelves-with-doors units set side-by-side to fit the vacant area in my island perfectly! They look nice enough, I swapped out nicer handles, and they hold all of my baking supplies; so now my baking station is on one whole side of the kitchen, conveniently all stored together within arms reach of where I bake. Here is another thing I like about them, they are dirt simple to put together! The first one took me 37 minutes to assemble, yes, I timed myself. The second one took 23 minutes. Everything was cut correctly, I was not missing any hardware, nothing was scratched, nothing was warped, everything was labeled, the instructions were very easy to follow and they didn't smell bad like some things I have put together from press board. Overall, they are a solid B- on looks, bumped up to a B with better handles. This is not an heirloom, this is a storage solution ready to work. I love them, they added so much storage and value to a neglected chunk of real-estate in my kitchen.

Not the Best Choice Out There...But
If you’re expecting a quality piece of furniture, look elsewhere. Depending on what you're buying it for, there are definitely better choices out there. I recently tore out an ugly stock pantry cabinet in my kitchen to rebuild a larger, nicer one in its place, but it’s just too hot to take on a woodworking project outdoors right now (I live in Alabama), not to mention my lack of time, so I bought this cabinet as a temporary fix until late autumn. All I can say is, it serves the purpose I needed it for. And that was to get all my kitchen junk off my counters until I could replace my pantry cabinet. Having read all the negative reviews, I knew what to expect and made the decision that was best for me based on my situation. Construction: It arrived with nicks and dings, plus a scratch on one of the doors. Again, it’s temporary so I won't fuss about that. Also, RTA furniture isn't exactly known for its ability to endure shipping. No matter how well it's packaged.. It’s idiot-proof to put it together. Not complicated at all. I will say this in favor of it, it doesn’t seem as rickety as many reviewers would have you to believe, IF you put it together properly. The panels are screwed directly into each other instead of using cam screws, so that alone helps structural integrity. Once my back panel was tacked on, it didn’t sway at all, even without the shelves in. The bottom skirt helps with that as well. Tip: I’ve come to learn over the years that RTA furniture tends to need a little fine tuning to be the best it can be. It’s particle board, plain and simple, so the joints are never all that strong. A good idea is to buy a few corner braces (very inexpensive) and secure each joint with one on each end. Also, the shelf pins that accompany this cabinet are plastic, so you if you want, you can easily upgrade to a bag of metal pins for just a buck or two. If you know you’ll be storing things on the heavy side, you may want to take these precautions or your cabinet will soon be falling apart on you. Your choice... Size: I studied its dimensions before I ordered it and used my tape measure to get an idea of size where I'd be placing it, so I didn’t go into it thinking I was getting something bigger than I actually was. Surprisingly, it holds a good bit of my kitchen stuff. I’ll be using it in conjunction with a fridge side rolling pantry, so it’s perfect for my needs right now. Overall: I think with light use, this could be an okay piece of furniture. If you have things you just want to hide away that you don’t use on a daily basis, this is your cabinet. Maybe in a guest room or your very own bedroom. You might also like to buy one for a teen going off to college. It's decent looking and better than the little plastic cubbies most big box stores try to shove down your throat during college moving season. It may even last until they graduate, if taken care of. I would not be bold enough to use this in a kid’s room. Again, it’s just not up to the task of vigorous use. The biggest gripe I have is that the espresso color went down from $39.95 to $27.96 (which is the more logical price for the cabinet) only a few weeks after I bought it. My recommendation that you purchase this cabinet is contingent upon you keeping your expectations VERY realistic. You are indeed getting what you pay for. Edit 9/12/2020: I came back to increase my initial rating of this cabinet from a 1 to a 4 because fair is fair. Despite its suspect quality when I first bought it, it really has held up over the years. After using it in a few different rooms in my house, I ended up finally giving it to my sister when I outgrew my need for it. What impressed me is that it has survived pretty much every day use over the past four years, was moved numerous times and looks exactly the same as the day it was purchased. There are no broken shelves or shelf pins. The doors are still in tact. Everything is good. Like I said in the original review, the life of it largely depends upon how you assemble it. I know it stinks to have to do extra to something after you've already paid for it, but hey, it's relatively cheap compared to other cabinets and the tune ups needed to make it better aren't costly at all. Grab a bottle of wood glue, a few corner braces and you're good to go. And that's just for heavy storage. For light stuff, you shouldn't have to do anything to it. Overall, I'd give anyone my complete blessing to buy this shelf. I stand by it 100%.

A great little cabinet
I run a little vinyl decal shop out of my house, and desperately needed a better way to store my rolls of vinyl. I found this affordable cabinet, and decided to give it a shotz because it fit my minimum of 12" height requirement for at least one shelf. It was pretty easy to put together, and everything fit just fine. Yes, the wood isn't superior quality, and it does start to flake if you move it wrong, but it hasn't flaked too terribly bad for me, and I've slid it around on my carpet a bit when I rearranged my office. It has done the job of holding several rolls of vinyl and tape, along with other miscellaneous supplies. I also have an Epson printer sitting on top of it and it's holding up fine. It comes with a piece to attach and mount it to a wall. I see why. It is very easy to push over, so if you have kids or pets that will be moving around this cabinet, it WILL fall over. But, since I don't have that issue, I decided to not mount it to my wall. The color is very pretty and just like the picture. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

Cheap, frustrating, not worth it.
Horrible flimsy material. And the company already knows it because before you start it advises you to "assemble somewhere soft and by hand, don't use power tools", not because it's in any way easy to do this with the holes they've barely carved out but because that's gonna cause the TERRIBLE WOOD TO FALL APART. It's Made of wood mulch that crumbles if you look at it sideways. Got splinters just from handling the unfinished sides. Immediately upon taking it out of the box the "finish" (i.e. Cheap plastic coating) was chipped and flaking away on almost every single piece. It looks like something I've already had for years or found in the garbage. The directions have zero relevant text, just little pictures... which would be fine, except you have screws of slightly varying sizes that all look the same when you doodle them on paper and God forbid you get one wrong, it's gonna go right through the wood mulch and chip away even more of the terrible flaky coating on the outside. Not to mention they claim stuff is labled with letters... It's not. Half of it is... The rest I literally had to just guess by the number of holes it had in the pictures. It also has pictures of it in different stages it forgot to tell you about in different directions, like oh by the way here's half of it magically done in step 2. But then they part disappears again in step 3. It also doesn't tell you which side is up on the panels and you'll have to just hope you get lucky by the time you get to the step where it's necessary. Oh, and make sure you have glue handy to glue half of it together. They make you hammer in the cardboard backing with 2 dozen tiny screws because reasons, but they make you glue on the dowels that hold half of it together. What kind of glue you ask? Dunno. It just says glue. I used gorilla glue cause that's all I had handy. So now let me go ahead and get a band aid for my bleeding hand from handling splintered wood mulch... I'll have to finish the thing tomorrow anyway cause I have to wait for my gorilla glue to cure where I had to glue crumbling bits back on. If I want so desperate for a storage unit of some kind I'd return it. What garbage.

Missing its top
Read the other reviews carefully. I went to put this together (of course on a weekend) and the cabinet was missing the top piece. I wrote the company an email (no customer service hours on the weekend). I then read some of the other reviews, and several also mentioned missing pieces. What bothers me most is that I line up projects on the weekend to accomplish and very often one depends on another. I intended to use this cabinet to contain items I was cleaning out of a shelving unit that was going into another part of the house. Nothing infuriates me more than a lack of quality control that affects my ability to get done what I need to get done. There is no excuse for this. I am also concerned that some have been asked to pay for the missing parts. In terms of quality this is an MDF cabinet and it looks like a $30 cabinet. But that is what I wanted and i bought. It would be perfect for my needs. It is going inside a closet and I would give it 4 stars if I could have put it together. One minor quibble. The instructions show that you need wood glue to put this together - makes sense, but the expectation is that you supply your own. Why not include a tiny tube? I emailed closetmaid and they sent me the top within a week via fedex, so I am upping to 3 stars. It is Ok as a closet cabinet. It is a bit smaller that I thought it would be, but it went together very easily. The finish on it is a bit uneven, bu fine for a closet. Good value, but no show piece.

Thank You for the bookcase it's a very nice looking bookcase...
Hello, this is a very nice bookcase and the color is so very pretty. I really like Dark Cherry, Walnut, Cherry Walnut, Dark Cherry Oak, Cherry Ash, Light and Dark Ash, and Hickory. Anyways, the bookcase is the perfect size for what I wanted and it fits great under a standard wall light switch and by a reclining loveseat. I have a room that is done up with the Dark Cherry and Walnut and looks so very nice and I was impressed by how good it looks. Yet, I think it needs to be 1/8" thicker on all of the pieces and I didn't need the stackable version and so I would have appreciated a version without the doors as the doors are waste and the number of shelves is perfect for this size of bookcase. I would like to see an entire line of products from ClosetMaid in what I said and yet it's just some suggestions. In that, the different sizes and doing a judgement based upon this bookcase and also a version that isn't stackable and doesn't have the doors. Again, 1/8" thicker for all of the pieces would have been much appreciated. This bookcase is perfect and it's very pretty. I needed it for several Karaoke Catalog collections and it holds up two sleeves per shelf and also up to two Karaoke Song collection book 3 ring binder catalogs very nice. I gave it five stars and because it's what I needed and it looks very nice. I think the quality needs to improve by being thicker by 1/8" and also having more options for an entire line of products in those colors. Thank You!

Needs different handles/screws
This is fine. Easy set up. The screws don't work for the handles so I put on different handles I had. Good quality

Functional for the Price
It is a decent cabinet that serves its purpose. The build quality is about entry-level IKEA, and was good enough for me to feel fine with having it in my house. For the price, I think it is actually better than I would have expected. My only complaint is that I wish there was a mechanism to keep the door closed. I find that the door really liked to swing open for a while when I first got it, but as it wore in that became less of an issue. I would just be prepared to either get one of the magnet kits to keep it closed or be patient with the door as you first get it.

Meuble classeur

It's a decent cabinet for our purposes
So as we develop our basement the stairwell going down to the basement has a little bit of a ledge and on that ledge instead of putting open shelves that are constantly dirty and I sore we're putting two of these side by side just as you would with cabinets in your kitchen to store miscellaneous items that we used to store in the stairwell but it will now keep it up and organized. This was a return to Amazon and I suspect it was probably because there was some damage to the packaging and there was a minor mark on one of the interior shelves but it's not noticeable when you are using it for again what we are using it for. Just think of Ikea when you are about to put this together it's relatively straightforward some of the mounting accessory hardware is very cheap don't over tighten things it's pressboard I glue everything after I'm done so I look at it this way when I put one of these together it's not with the intention to take it apart so I'm not afraid to use wood glue sparingly of course I put the wood glue into the pockets where the threaded screws go in everywhere again this is not coming apart. overall the quality itself the hinges are decent they're not soft closing hinges mounting hardware is cheap pressboard material it's high production stuff so yeah understand what your what you're paying for but the outcome is probably going to be the same.

Best cabinets I’ve ever purchased
These stackable cabinets are great as a pantry or for organizing arts and crafts. I previously had 7 and sold them when I moved only to find I needed them again! I started with 4 for my art supplies since my new place has a huge pantry. One can even purchase bins and boxes, drawers and accessories for these made from clear plastic. I found them available through Home Hardware but do a search for “closet maid” and see what you can find on Amazon. These are great for many uses and hold up for years. They still looked brand new after 6 years of use. Highly recommended!
