Out of Sight - Out St Anding
Read it as soon as possible and then come back on here so we can talk about it. One of those books that you need another bookworm to chat about it with after finishing, because it’s just that incredible.

Mr. Dialogue
Hard not to think of Elmore Leonard that way. The dialogue fleshes out his characters much more than any descriptions. The dialogue actually drives much of the action. That talent is on full display in this novel, especially in terms of the interestingly unlikely relationship of the two main characters.

Not that good.
This was so-so. Felt like Leonard was mailing this one in. Not nearly as good as the first two I read, Rum Punch and Stick. It wasn't bad but it certainly didn't live up to some of the rave reviews I read. Just ok.

OUT OF SIGHT should be in your sights
Having seen the movie of the same name twice, I was eager to read the novel on which it is based. And I was not disappointed.OUT OF SIGHT may well have supplanted RUM PUNCH as my all-time favorite Elmore Leonard novel. It is slick, it teases without being coy, and the characters become increasingly real as the story progresses. Fantastic.

Is this love?
Another great Elmore Leonard tale of bad guys in action, plus one good girl. The ratatat pace doesn't give time for reflection but the thread is a love story. Or maybe it isn't. Recommended as a totally enjoyable speed read.

a really sophisticated, slick piece of crime fiction. Elmore Leonard was a much vaunted storyteller and deservedly so. in this book the principal characters
are meticulously fleshed out. they can win your respect without feeling the need for any sacrifices. god rest you Mr Leonard you've left us with a Canon the reverberations of which will continue to be felt for considerable time

He phoned it in.
Sorry, but I liked the movie better. Typical Leonard without the oomph. I was bored and put it down.

Out of sight
Outstanding Elmore Leonard crime thriller. Don't recall ever reading one of his which has disappointed.

Thoroughly professional storytelling with interesting characters but
... the characters never give but much about themselves - the unfolding plot and the coincidences which link two opposed characters together always take precedence. This is a really good example of the crime/thriller genre - but it always seems to be holding back from something it's dying to tell us. Well worth the read, though.

Great stuff!
This is how to write a good crime novel. Sharp dialogue and clean plot lines. No sick dwelling on crimes against some poor girl but quick fire repartee and move on fast with the story.

Good book, the film is actually very closely tied to it, much of the dialogue is very recognisable. Loved the 'extra scenes' that put more flesh on the bones of the story
