In need of alterations
Such a shame! The idea is spot on but it just lacks detail. The job I have involves standing outside in all weathers not moving much for hours on end and constantly having to be on the look out - I get very very cold. Only trouble is, when I do have to move, its needs to be quick and responsive so I am unable to wear big bulky but warm clothing. I thought this hooded snood thing would be perfect, but alas, no.OK so its not waterproof, that didn't bother me, but what does is the fact that the skirt bit that is supposed to go over the chest and back area is not designed to flow over the shoulders ie it bunches up with the excess of fabric which means the hood is twenty foot in the air!The draw string doesn't tighten the neck area to stop wind from blowing down your front, but it does pull the whole thing forward, causing it to travel upwards at the back, and leaving you with a piddly little hole to see through.A few alterations needed such as slitting the sides so that it goes over the shoulders and down to cover the chest and back areas. A drawstring placed inside the neck area so that this can be tightened as I don't have a neck size of 26", and I haven't quite worked out how to rescue the face drawstring so that its snug but doesn't enduce the 'looking down a toilet tube so I can't see what's happening on my left or right'.It seems warm to the touch but I haven't worn it outside yet as its not fit for me to wear for my work, but saying that, it could be perfect if you are able to have your jacket done up to the very top and you don't need to see where you are going!

Vital on Mt. Kenya!
I relied on this when I recently climbed Mt Kenya. I can tell you that at the top - around 5000 meters up - it's very cold. I used this fleece to keep my head warm when sleeping in a tent at various staging camps on the climb up and I wore it on the summit whilst watching the sun rise over the equator. With a strong wind blowing and very low air temperatures as well I found this fleece hood invaluable. I particularly liked the way that the hood projects in front of your eyes so that your face gets some protection from the wind whilst giving you good visibility. It's a bit of kit I am glad I took climbing and I wouldn't go without it in future.

Brilliant, nice and snug, very warm
I love this balaclava it keeps my face super warm and it got here just in the nick of time as a serious cold front is coming into Ireland now. This was put on under a warm jacket with another big hood and I felt like I was still in my bed I was so warm and comfy. I felt like I had my own little shelter for my head to hide in haha. It just feels really nice wearing this. Why didnt I buy this sooner?

Nice, warm & clever. I named it trevor
This is perfect! I marshal on rallies in all seasons & I have been looking for something like this for years. It will fit under my waterproof hood because otherwise it would become a sponge!I went out for a walk with the dog to test it out the other day (snowing & a windchill took temperature down to about -5) & it's just fantastic! Because it is designed to sit underneath your outer layer (coat or large jumper) it keeps every bit of your neck warm. Infact warm isn't the best word to describe the temperature it can maintain. I walk my dog on a regular basis & around a 3 mile reservoir. It's a nice walk but it's open to the elements. Not in this it isn't!I genuinely felt like my head was in the tropics! You feel the benefits almost immediately & the only draw back is controlling the heat!As we lose a lot of heat through our heads this is just brilliant. It will keep you warm in any weather up to polar exploration (ok don't take my word for it but I stuck my head in the freezer for a bit & I was fine). As I vape, the mouth flap is ingenious!I used to use a neck warmer (or topless hat your choice) & whilst it did the job. It was nowhere near as good as this thing. It's not restrictive & it is just comfort. When I went for a puff on my cig, I didn't have to go through the rigmarole of pulling down the neck warmer & then trying to get it back in just the right spot. Now it's a simple flip my flap, take a drag & flap my flip back up. If you want to be warm outside & don't want to spend £100's on a jacket because let's face it, your normal jacket is nice & warm but just doesn't cover the bases then click the buy now & thank me later.

Item looks similar to above but its not , the collar does not come as far down the neck as in this picture nor does it have the pink logo as advertised..... looks and feels cheap and not even fit for a charity shop.

Very warm, great for outdoors
I got lot more hood than I expected, and especially given how little it cost. Nice, heavy-weight polar fleece (or the equivalent), which is doubled at the face mask-- or tripled around the neck if you don't raise the mask-- with a hoodie-style hood with draw string. Tucks into any sweatshirt to turn it into a hoodie, which I like. This is truly a great product. The fabric is soft and comfortable. It fits nicely for any size head. The draw strings allow for a fit snug to your head.Overall, this product kept me dry, comfortable, out of the elements, and feeling warm all day. It does exactly what it is meant to do.

Not a good design
I have had snoods before, the lower portion should be wider than the head/neck portion to allow for effective tucking under jackets etc.., the hood portion should not be so huge as to hide ones face thus making seeing where one is going nigh on impossible, the neck warmer should have it's own drawstring to make all snug and cosy (and not looking stupid!).....this one has none of those three things. It would fit over a helmet or crash hat.......... I gave it 2 stars as I figure the design might not bother some
