THE best
I've only tried these out initially testing them with my normal TV volume upon receipt. The TV was at my normal listening level and these nearly cancelled out the volume entirely. They are an extremely flexible material--much more flexible than expected. I was surprised at how uncomfortable they were to wear given their flexibility, BUT I do have small ear canals so that's not any sort of overt product issue. Easy to see which side is which and removing them is very easy as well.Edit: I've become more skilled at donning the earplugs and I have zero pain now when wearing them. Any pain I felt initially was clearly user error caused! I use these regularly for lawn trimming and any other loud, sustained noise environments. They are very effective and lower decibel levels for me so much better than any other earplug I've tried. Other earplugs simply muffle sound, but don't eliminate any of the actual noise level. These eliminate/lower ambient noise level AND I am still able to have a conversation without removing them.Update: I continue to use these for hedge & weed trimming and other anticipated loud situations and am extremely pleased with the protection they provide. These ear plugs are the real deal; I recommend then without reservation.Update: I've now used these during some flights as well as during multiple, lawn trimming bouts and they have performed beyond my expectations in terms of noise "cancellation". I can still hear while wearing them, but the noise level is much reduced and is significantly better than ANY other type of in-ear or over-ear protection I've ever worn. I would recommend this product without reservation.

An expensive pair of earplugs that I didn't like at all
I bought a pair of "Fishstar Reusable Safe Silicone Earplugs Noise Cancelling Ear Plugs for Sleeping (Reduce 40dB)" because 40dB is way better than any other earplugs I've ever found. Well, for me at least, they're way way below 40dB - they don't even come close to providing the same noise reduction of the ordinary earplugs I already have, plus they are very uncomfortable to insert and wear. And to top it off, this single pair of earplugs cost more than what 12 pair of my favorite earplugs cost (Luiswell Silicone Ear Plugs, which are very comfortable, easy to use, and give very good noise reduction). So, this pair of Fishstar earplugs was a failed experiment and waste of money.

Very sound isolating!
I have used loop earplug as well and other general earplugs, but this one genuinly blocks out a lot of noise when i go sleeping!! I am a very light sleeperand it works wonders. Of coourse it doens't work if there is someone standing in the room, you can still hear some noise, you just can't hear the words clearly. But overall pretty good!Comfort: You'll get used to it, and it gets softer over time. You can also remove stiffness by putting it in your hand :)

Pretty good, but only if used correctly
These earbuds are great, if you use them correctly.A lot of people are treating them as one size fits all, they are not. Will they get rid of most noise, not really. Do they seal amazing out of the box. No, not really. However this depends on your ear shape. The way to use these is to lube the tips with a bit of lotion. A pea sized amount for both tips, will allow them to seal perfectly. They will not block out noise, but they are comfortable to sleep in. All the other designs on amazon suck or are comfortable for sleeping more than an hour.My only issue is that they will fall out if you toss in your sleep. I have bought around 6 pairs of these and they are my go to for everything from concerts to sleeping on planes.

Placement into ear canal is specific, will take getting used to and may not be for everyone
Inner ear plugs, especially this silicone design are very specific and individual. You really have to pay attention to exactly how they are put into the ear if there is going to be a comfortable fit AND noise reduction. Pull the ear up, place into canal fully. Some may not like the pressure sensation. Not finding these great for sleeping with a pillow, but OK without a pillow. The base is not as compressible and you can feel it when laying on your side and using a pillow. Great in the office. Cannot confirm if these are reducing ambient/background noise 40dB, not really any different from Macks soft compressible ear-plugs or comparable Walgreens generic soft compressible ear-plugs with very loud musical instruments. These are washable which is terrific. These do not actively cancel sound, but just passively block it by occluding the ear canal. Rated 3/5 for combination of fit, comfort, wearability, washability and noise reduction. I think the pricing is fair.

Amazing!! Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison Concert help!!!
I wore these to my first concert, including Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett. The noise was extremely loud for me and I was very nervous that it would be too loud for me since I am so sensitive to loud noises and they were such a good price. They worked perfectly for me for the whole night and made it so I could enjoy the music and it was much easier on my ears!! Would definitely recommend!! Only took a point off for comfort because having them all the way in as far as they would go the whole night hurt a little, but I was pushing them in a lot.

Slightly noise cancelling but still lacking
So i bought these to replace my favorite ear plugs that i cant find anymore. I married a man who can snore so loud the neighbors complain. I also don't like late night wind storms. These are not the plugs to cancel these noises. I want plugs that make me absolutely deaf at night....and sometimes during the day when I need to concentrate and my husband is having a sinus flare up.If you jam these into your ear and work them in far enough you might get some noise cancelling. The tips are pretty flimsy so getting the ends situated just right in your ear is a bit of a chore. Once in, they are comfortable. The handles make getting them out simple and quick. I wouldn't suggest these for someone who sleeps next to a loud snorer if that is what you are desperate to block out. The cancelling seems uneven or unbalanced. I get a strong cancelling sensation in one ear and buzzing in the other or an amplified echo. Maybe these would be best for yard work or concerts, but not sleep noise.
