Great purchase
Fit PERFECT in my 2006 F150 XL 4.6LI initially purchased the Scosche brand that said it fit my truck. After removing a lot of extra plastic tabs in order for me to install it there was a large gap at the the bottom of my console panel. Couldn’t return it so I trashed it. The Metra installed easy, no cutting tabs, etc... Be patient and READ DIRECTIONS with any installation. Great purchase.

Does not fit EVERY 2005 Ford Explorer.
Dash kit compatibility can be extremely confusing for people who have never installed them in a variety of vehicles. I thought Amazon would be of help considering their compatibility program said this would fit a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT. Metra makes great kits, don't get me wrong. However, anyone who may be reading this please aware that Amazon's compatibility program is incorrect in stating that this will work with EVERY 2005 Ford Explorer. Some will work with this kit, depending exactly which month it was manufactured, some will work with Metra's model # 99-5026 (which has the screw-in on the bottom and not on the sides). This would actually be a really great kit if it were the correct one, which is why I still gave the item 4 stars. This experience was still better than a certain Big Box retailer who's car audio department was absolutely no help and tried selling me this kit AFTER I told them that I knew it wasn't the correct one... then proceeded to try to sell me the wrong Scosche model.

Solid mounting, doesn't look too bad!
Worked great with my 2004 Ford F150 Super Cab with default sound system (no factory sub, no steering wheel controls, x4 6x8 speakers)!Several mounting options were in the bag, including the one needed for the single DIN JVC reciever I got from Walmart. Installation was fairly simple, just had to decide which cover I wanted to use between the head and the adapter kit.Mounting was solid and the head unit doesn't rattle. Visual transition between the truck and the adapter kit is seamless, but between the adapter and the head unit leaves a little to be desired. This is understandable though, since the Metra engineers couldn't possibly design for a seamless fit with the thousands of head units on the market. Not as seamless as the original, but for a home install of an aftermarket head unit this adapter kit does a good job. Solid mounting and it doesn't look half bad!

Does the job
Works just fine for a double din in an 07 mustang. The plastic matches the stock color/texture pretty closely.

Blends in with the OEM dash
The product is as described, it fit right into my truck and the plastic blended right into the rest of the dash so it did not look too bad, I was a little concerned until I installed it, but the installation kit met my expectation. I have a single din radio with a retractable flip screen for videos and back up camera monitor, the video screen flips out okay without rubbing into the sides of the plastic of the mounting bracket, I only wished that they made the mounting sides where you screw it into the dash a bit more beefier, because one of the side wing broke when I inserted the receiver head, the receiver is now only being held by three screws instead of four, but it is pretty much secure in there and not vibrating at all (so I lucked out) That is why I am only giving it a three star because of the flimsy mounting wings :-(

Great fit and finish.
Installed in a Ford Expedition with a Clarion NX404 head unit. Was a little worried that all of the mounting parts on this kit are plastic. Was not sure how it could support the weight of the head unit I was installing. Fit an finish was spot on, looks totally like a factory install with my head unit, and fully suppors the head unit with no issues. Looked this part up on Crutchfield to see what fit my install and ordered on Amazon. Figured if this same part was being sold with my head unit on Crutchfield, it must be good. Quality part, and no installation issues.

Good fit. Good buy.
It fit perfectly in my 2006 F-150. I like that it came with both single and double DIN kits. I have no complaints.

Works good, allows double DIN radios to be installed and ...
Works good, allows double DIN radios to be installed and looks almost factory. The inside flange running around the inside edge hits up on the front face of the Pioneer AVH-270BT. Thus it does not allow the face of the radio to be flush with the surface of this fascia. The radio mounts so that the bottom edge is about 3mm back from the front surface. The top is OK.When I get some time in the summer, I'm going to take it apart and Dremel off some of the flange. Monkeying around with the side brackets doesn't solve the problem.Otherwise, it does what it's suppose to do.
