Blackened Records is the new label for all of Metallica's repertoire. The audio for this release is identical to the WB counterpart. The tune stacks are also identical.

Surround sound bargain!
I bought this specifically because it's mixed in 5.1, I don't care about the videos themselves. Sounds great on my system!

Great mixes, wish they made all their albums in 5.1 DVD-Audio
The videos are mostly know by everybody who is reading this.Listening to the songs in 5.1 is a totaly new experience and its is great. The only bad thing is they made it only in Dolby Digital which comapred to (at least) DTS or Hi-Rez DVD-A is dull. The music is still great thou, becasue the mixes are very good. "One" sounds better than ever.I dont know how the DVD-A of Black album did saleswise, but is is a ver good mix, and I could really imagine all of Metallicas albums, made in Hi-REz DVD-A with mulchannel mix, Master of Puppets anyone?Metallica love money, so reissuing ther plast albums in new formats would be squeezing the last drop of money with very like work to do. I dont mind, I would pay for that.

Why not 5 stars? I don't know..
If you want Metallica videos then 'hear' you are! Stand out performances include Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, Until it Sleeps, Turn the Page (a Bob Segar cover that M. actually does a better job of than himself) and Whiskey in the Jar-O. Also incudes "2 of One" and some Some Kind of Monster (St. Anger) stuff as a bonus! )) 4 stars because I felt like it.

Censorship sucks, Metallica (for the most part) sucks now
Censorship sucks, Metallica (for the most part) sucks now. And Warner brothers most definitely sucks. Metallica let the label put out a censored piece of junk. Way to go James & Lars. I remember when you used to be good, I remember when you where my favorite band. You didn't do stuff like this back in those days, you just made good music. Whiskey in the jar is censored. Turn the page is censored. This doesn't even deserve one star. Metallica & Warner brothers destroyed the art of Metallica & Jonas Akerlund on this DVD. While some people might not think this is a big deal, I do. These music companies sit on copyright and refuse to release art, and to release uncensored art, hording it away for themselves. Refusing to share it with those who would like to appreciate it. Think about that. They complain about people downloading their copyrighted art, but refuse to give you a legal way to buy the uncensored product. They couldn't market music videos to fans if someone came in and hit them over the head with the business plan to do it with. This DVD is just another shining example of them not giving fans what they want & trying to maximize profits through censorship. They are dinosaurs, they are clueless. The whine and complain about people not paying for things, then make things that aren't worth paying for. Collectively the music industry has screwed up more music video collections than they have gotten right. Amazon needs to provide me with the option for no stars so I can properly rate their products. I mean if you want to release a censored version for the uptight folks, fine, but don't censor my product because I don't want my product censored, and I don't think a few uptight people should make it so there isn't one. Clearly the only way to get a superior product from the music industry is to make a bigger noise than the people whining about nudity and swear words, challenge accepted!

Some wild guys
I bought this dvd to see them perform "One" and I am glad that I did. I don't really like their music otherwise, but that song is phenomenal. The video of it was okay.

Excellent DVD
To say these guys have been around for 30 years ' and myself a fan of this kind of music I was really surprised that I only really knew two of this bands songs .Enter Mr.sandman + Whiskey in the jar .But this really is a brilliant DVD and there just isn't 1 bad song on this entire DVD collection .The cover of Whiskey in the jar is just superb and is far better than the Thin Lizzy version " R.I.P THE GREAT PHIL LYNOTT "2 Channel PCM STEREO & 5.1 DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND SOUND MIX .A true belter of a heavy metal video . Worth adding to any music DVD collection

A cool collection
This is a superb collection of videos by Metallica! If you like Metallica then this is a no brainer! The videos for 'One' and 'Enter sandman' are classics. Some of my personal favourite metallica videos are on this disc including 'Hero of the day', 'turn the page' (a very sad and heartbreaking video) 'whiskey in the jar' (a house party) and the one filmed at the prison San Quentin for St Anger. The only thing to be aware of when buying this is that there are no videos from their recent album 'Death magnetic' as this collection was released 2 years before that record came out. Lastly If you like this check out AIC music bank video collection as thats superb too.
