Just received -- never used as a knife. The extra blade storage is impossible to use because the plastic injection process resulted in a channel that is just a bit too narrow for blades to fit in -- even the blade it came with. Thus my unit has NO usable storage. Also, as at least one other noted, the back end is VERY difficult to remove -- probably another plastic injection process problem. And the snap-off slot is too thin to fit the blade -- gets another plastic injection process problem.Good heft, easy to hold and seems sturdy. Nicely designed, just poor manufacturing Quality Control. I am sending mine back and getting another brand; it's not worth the hassle of getting yet another one that can not be properly used as envisioned.

They claim its in the handle but that is impossible due to the huge gaping hole that would allow the blades to simply fall out. The fact that they claim that there is a storage for extra blades is a lie. There isn't even a belt clip to make up for it. When I examined the body for the "extra storage" the spring flew out when trying to "open" it. Then when I put the "body" back on, the button flew off! Returning asap , totally dissatisfied.

I don't know if I got a "bad" one or not, but removing the end piece to change blades or use the "built-in blade snap off" feature is extremely hard to remove - it fits so tight that I had to use a metal tool to "push" it out - afraid I might break the small plastic end piece - I hate to think I'll need to do this whenever changing a blade, no way can I open it by hand - it just doesn't work like it should - frustrating.

Initial review is just like the headline states - sturdy, balanced, seems well made.I've only used it a dozen times or so in the past few weeks but good results so far. The "heavy-duty" description seems accurate compared to other utility knives I own. I have had the slide-lock release unintentionally once but I'm still getting used to it - so it could've been user error. If I find that it starts to happen more frequently, I'll update this review.

After having several all-plastic knife cases break with use, I decided to try this one because the blade is encased in a steel channel. So far so good. The knife is definitely much more sturdy that the ones I've had before, and it fits nicely in my adult male hand. Then only knock I have on the knife is the blade lock is not as robust of a design as the rest of the knife. It's not horrible, but it could be better.

This utility knife replaces one which snapped in two. That knife was old and rather flimsy. You won't think flimsy when you use this knife! This one is sturdy and very comfortable in the hand to use. It has a good safety measure to keep the knife closed; I keep it in my pocket in between opening cartons. It has a great grip to it. The knife portion is broader than most. These tend to run skinny, this one is not. It's great!

This knife might be ok for light duty work. It lasted about a week in my hands, but I was using it for fairly heavy duty work when i probably shouldn’t have.For only $7, I guess I got what I expected for the price. Also it could be more ergonomic in the hand, but its not terrible.
