Dr. Jack Newman's Guide to Breastfeeding

This is a helpful guide to breastfeeding. It includes many insights and tips for breastfeeding and overcoming challenges. However, the author is very opposed to formula and bottle feeding, so those who do either may take offense at his outspoken manner. The book appears to be based heavily on the author's experience observing breastfeeding and helping mothers breastfeed. His tone can be sarcastic and opinionated.

Excellent. I am a breastfeeding counselor for that last 21 years and I have found the information in the book realistic and usable. The range of topics covered leaves nothing to chance. From free access to the breast right after birth and the development of a proper latch, to the pros of breastfeeding and the problems of supplement feeding, the importance of skin to skin contact for bonding and comfort, to exclusive breastfeeding and the dangers of mixed feeding...it is all there. a definite book for new mothers and professionals alike. It is informative, easy to read and definitely a "go to" resource.

informative and problem solving on breastfeeding issue.Understand some may have different opinions on formula or pacifier. Some may find the protocol high standard, yet breastfeeding really turns easier if follow his guidance.

A very comprehensive guide. I purchased the Kindle edition & was pleased to see that illustrations were included, sometimes this format doesn't allow for that. I am looking forward to using this as a resource. Author took the time to address a lot of potential problems that may arise & presents multiple, detailed solutions for each. I have a feeling that this book will be my go-to tool while establishing breastfeeding.

I already knew most of the info in this book, but had been struggling with latching for 5 weeks and seriously thought about quitting. The info in the book was a game changer for me, and I'll be giving it to friends as baby shower gifts!

This book is full of wonderful information that you cannot find all in one place. It offers soo much knowledge for new moms planning to breastfeed and encouragement for those who are having trouble. It is also full of wonderful resources to be consulted when needed.

If you want to breastfeed your baby, this book contains valuable information on the problems you may encounter and how to solve them.

Good book a lot of info

I’m enjoying my second read of ‘Dr. Jack Newman’s Guide to Breastfeeding’ and I just love it. I’ve even bought this book as gifts for new moms (I’m a midwife). The book is very easy to read, very informative- but with bite size information- so nothing overwhelming, and he writes with personality and with a sense of humor in there too sometimes, which makes for a lovely and positive read- I feel like I’ve just been chatting with him. I definitely recommend this book for new parents and care givers alike!

I was surprised a woman didn't write the book ;) A must read for breastfeeding mothers, especially for first time mothers that hear a lot of non sense misleading information from everyone around. Really improved my self confidence as a mother and a woman

After using the book for just 2 days , it is converted into separate papers , not a book .I hate this

Ottimo libro. Lo consiglio. Come prima lettura però suggerirei Allattamento della Negri Paola, od Un dono per tutta la vita di Gonzales. Questo di Newman è un po'più tecnico, curando alcuni argomenti come il device per la supplementazione, un po'particolari. Interessante la parte sulla compressione del seno, spiegata benissimo
