Elite Hockey Pro-Skate Guard

Lousy quality soles
At first, these were great. They look sharp and seemed to do the job. But we’ve owned them for 3 weeks and 2 days and they are already worn through. My kid is young; he’s not putting a ton of weight or wear into them. You can tell that the blade just pierced right through on both sides; the rest of the guard still looks new. We used the youth guard for size 13 skates, the appropriate size, but just 3 weeks later the guards have holes on both sides. That’s not acceptable. And we just had the skates sharpened last week, so we will have to get them sharpened again. Thank goodness I noticed when I did or someone could have gotten seriously injured and/or a blade would need more repair than just sharpening.

Waste of money, don’t stay on skates at all
Garbage. These don’t stay on the skate at all. They need a better system to make sure these skate guards don’t pop off so easily. I ended up wrapping a Velcro strap around the bottom of each one through the blade underneath the foot of the skate. Waste of money, for this price you should be able to have a skate guard that stays on your skates. Good idea, but terrible execution and product Development. Did anyone actually ever own a pair of ice skates who works for this company??? I’d bet that the “genius” behind this disaster is probably from Florida or Texas Lol.

Very durable even after heavy use. Setup can be tricky initially.
The skate guard is very durable. My son wore this guard for two months and walk outside at least twice weekly. So far the guard is holding up without any issue. We had a previous guard from different brand that did not have hard bottom and that guard started to tear after two weeks of light use. I think the rigid bottom and side helped kept the skate aligned to the guard. Make sure after putting in the guard, wiggle the skate to confirm it's in place. For setup, we found it's easier to start from the back and then pull the guard to slip into the front.

XL will also fit size 14 stakes
As noted, they will fit very large skates- a lot of soakers/guards will not, and they function as a soaker/guard well. They can be tricky to get fit just right however, which is why i took a star off- sometimes they seem to click right in place, and sometimes they remain too loose, and if you do walk in them they need to be on just right, like all guards. You'll know when they are on properly bc they will sit in a way that when you press the bottom of the guard when they are on your skates, they will hardly move at all- i.e. they will be firmly and completely covering your blade. Ideally they would click into place more easily, but otherwise they are solid soaker/guards.

Was hopeful but they keep falling off
Bought these for my son. Due to covid rules he has to be fully dressed going into arena. These are our third try at finding something that will stay on his size 1 hockey skates. I thought we got it right this time as the rubber old style skate guards just fell off in the car. First day trying these out and I get a report back that they fell off more than once on their first use. They seemed snug so I am really disappointed. I guess we will just have to put skates on in the arena. I've now wasted about $60 on guards that don't work.

Waste of money if you’re using them for more than an in bag guard ....
My son has has worn these 3 times and they are already ripped in the back. They go up to a kids 13. My son is in an 11 so it’s not like his skates even fill the whole guard space. He only weighs 41lbs so he isn’t even putting a ton of weight on them.If you’re buying these for the short walk from the car into the rink, don’t bother. They also fall off constantly. He twisted his leg today when one flew off getting to the car. I was hoping these would be easier for my son to put on and take off by himself. Back to the rubber guards we go. Definitely not worth it. Didn’t even last one week ....

Great for protecting your investments (skates and blades), stay mobile in those rinks without rubber pads everywhere.
So far I love these skate guards. They may seem a little overkill, but with how expensive skates (and blades) are these days it is well worth the investment over other cloth skate guards. There is a rubber strip on the toe and bottom of the skate guard which is more than substantial while walking around. It should be noted that prior to these I had Reebok's normal cloth skate guards, and while they did work to protect my skates in my bag they were torn to bits when I had to walk around concrete/metal bleacher areas. Luckily there wasn't any damage that a good skate sharpening couldn't fix, but I've learned my lessons about normal cloth skate guards.

Great when properly used
Great product! I've seen plenty of people complain of wearing through them. Ice skates are not specifically designed for any surface but the ice so walking around should be limited to the bare minimum. In addition, when you place soakers on wet skates in between periods of skating they absorb water. Meaning they will stay moist longer and rust faster than if you just leave them untouched. Skates are supposed to be dried thoroughly and aired out before placing any kind of soft skate guard. If there isn't proper flooring accommodating of skates it means your rink is up to standard or you shouldn't have skates on doing whatever you're doing.
