The medium robe and top fit well but the medium pants were too small. There wasn’t any stretch in the fabric. The large top was pretty big on me and the pants fit perfectly. So neither size really fit me properly but it still worked for the event. Mine came and looked so good that my husband decided to buy one as well in a different color. I need instructions :(** A: The pants you put on like anything else, Then start by putting the dark brown shirt layer on. From there, put on the tan tunic. With the two tan stalls drape one over each shoulder. Everything should be kind of wrapped around you like a bath robe. Secure the previous steps with the tan belt and the put the leather belt around that. Put on cloak like a bath robe if desired. Put on your choice of boots and tuck excess material from pants into boots. It can be a little cumbersome to to keep everything together, so I added velcro on mine in certain areas and then it was all fine. Safety pins are a viable substitute if you don't want to buy any velcro. **Q: what does the costume come with?** A: Mine came with a brown short sleeve shirt, brown pants, a white long sleeve 3/4 length shirt, a long brown hooded robe, two long white pieces to drop over shoulders, a short white sash for the waist and a brown leather like utility belt. I typically wear size 36/32 pants and XL shirts. For those who find themselves between two sizes on the size chart, I recommend opting for the larger size. I initially ordered the XL based on the size chart, which fit but felt a bit tight. I returned it for the XXL, which is slightly loose, but I'm planning to hem it for a better fit. The pouch that comes with the belt is a nice feature for holding my ID, though it could use a little more space. One thing to note is that the outer tunic is not attached, which can cause it to slip off your shoulders. To improve this, I added sew-on snaps, which helped keep it in place.
