Nextbase 222X Front and Rear Dash Cam, 1080p Front and 720p Rear

Cheapest on the market and works as it should shame nextvase don’t sell sd cards with dash cams and include it the price at a discount because you have to get U3 specific sd card to use it so for anyone reading this prepare to fork out another 20-30 quid on a sd card and don’t get a 32gb causes it to freeze but can’t fault the product itself love the inside view too

Excellent dash cams and really easy to set up. Playback footage is excellent and the camera itself is really user friendly. Would highly recommend to others.

The camera is easy to install and the quality of the product feels and looks good. The 222X model loses a star though because it doesn’t support the Nextbase Connect mobile app meaning you have to remove the camera from the car and plug it into a computer in order to copy saved recordings. The rear view camera is a little pointless as it’s not designed to be fitted in the rear window. It’s attached to the main camera unit so really you’re just recording the contents of the car.

Have this camera in both cars and really happy with them. The quality is good and the mounting system is excellent no more stupid suckers that pop off.

Excellent product. Works well with the MG car as it has a USB port next to the central mirror and I was able to plug it into that (using my own lead). So no dangling leads. Turns on by itself when I start the car. The first micro SD-card it didn't like, but it was fine with the second. Not sure why it didn't like the first as it was supposably compatible, but the second worked to sorted.

Bought this to replace a older Nexbase camera on my wife’s car, the old one is on my vehicle, I chose Nextbase again as I was happy with the previous one just wanted to to get a later technology, easy to fit easy to get up and running good crisp picture this one has a rear view camera attached which is useful. Cost was reasonable to. Would recommend

Excellent. Fitted to a 207 and later an MX5 ( no mount for a separate rear facing camera).

I had an accident a few weeks after fitting this dashcam and I couldn't even see the other car on the video footage. There are plenty of blindspots and the front view is as wide as the windscreen but its not fish eye like my previous cam so you can't see to the left and the right. The rear cam works by looking through the back window and this is fiddley to get right. It is not a great view as its restricted by how large your back window is. It is better than no view out of the back though. In the dark you can really just see headlights. You can see a car is there but not much detail. The lense on the back camera is very stiff to move and it takes a lot of adjusting to get a good view out the front and back at the same time. The best place to mount this would be the middle of the windscreen so it can also see through gap between the front seats. Sadly this is where your rear view mirror is or the black dots round the windscreen edge. In my 1st car a Corsa D the rear camera view was partially blocked if someone was in the front passenger seat. If 3 people are in the back the rear camera view was also blocked. My Citreon C3 can see through the back window with a front passenger in the car.. I would blue tac the cam on for the first few weeks till you get the placement right or use a suction mount which Nextbase will send you if you ask. Then use the sticker which is solid. For the price the design is ok. Not perfect but ok. The video and sound is clear and decent. Though the field of view lets it down. Customer care is good and so is the software. You have to use the Nextbase sdcard. You need to format it every few weeks to keep it running well.

I researched a bit for its review before purchasing it and it turns out to meet my expectation. Good for people who can bear with slightly unclear view at night. Rear camera is just for better than nothing and don’t expect a good view from it at night. During day time. It works ok
