After nearly being rundown by a gang known as the Scars, Brenda (Linda Blair) and friends trash the leader's car. Gang leader, Jake, exacts his revenge by getting his cohorts to gang-rape her mute-deaf sister, Heather (in a gloriously nuanced role by Linnea Quigley). Armed with a crossbow and a bad attitude, Linda Blair sets out to avenge her mute-deaf sister while blazing a bloody, Bronson-inspired trail through 80's Los Angeles.

Revenge 80s style
So what to say . Watchable..violent rape scene. Blair acting uneven. Bathtub scene classic . Her revenge good ..Vernon overacts and chews the scenery.. Quigley brave actress the ultimate scream queen. Overall great fun

Took me back in time to the good old movie days. The plot was good and I enjoyed it very much.

A classic 80's low budget film!
I have been wanting to finally add this to my collection for years, having first seen it in 1984, then on VHS, that I basically wore out. Now it finds a place in my collection, along with the soundtrack(are as hen's teeth), various promotional stills and the original movie poster. Interesting group of extras including vintage interviews, three commentaries, isolated music track and more. The print is the best I've seen and far better than the old VHS pan and scan. Essential to my Linda Blair collection and also featuring what I think is one of Linnea Quigley's best performances as Linda's death/mute sister. A great, cult classic 80's revenge film!

Best Linda Blair movie Ive seen this week without a doubt.
This movie is sort of a cross between Death Wish 1 and Angel ( the classic 80s hooker vigilante movie.) Linda Blair plays a 25 year old high school student who looks old for her age, but she lives in Hollywood so I guess most high school students do. Her friends also are in their mid 20s and in the same high school. The ladies spend their evenings wandering the streets of Hollywood looking like glam rock gang members. They make a mistake when they steal the car of the drug dealing gang of villains of the film who appear to be a Loverboy cover band. After the bad guys, lead by Evil Mike Reno, violently attack her family and friends, Blair goes to the cross bow / bear trap store then sets about getting her revenge.Sure there's a couple holes in the plot, but if you over look minor flaws like that the movie is excellent. Definitely R rated . The evil loverboy cover band uses really offensive language and definitely deserve what they've got coming to them.Superb acting by the guy who played Dean Wermer in Animal House too

Quite Decent for a B movie
It was the 80s and some B movies ranked as good as the blockbusters. While this one isn't it bares recognition. Blair more notable for her Reagan performance in EXCORCIST deserves good credit here. Playing a toughie streetwise chick, against a scumbag gang, who rapes her younger sister. Most of the cast is believable in their roles. So that hands down accounts for much. Decent soundtrack, and cinematography. We liked it.

So bad it's good
This movie was really the first Purge movie. You can do what ever you want to do to someone else without the fear of getting caught or punished. Watching it is like going by a horrible crash on the side of the road. You shouldn't look at it and you should turn away but you can't , you just can't. It's so bad it's good. The 80s rule.

Terrific Trash
A fun revenge flick with thick slices of cheese. No matter what crime or sexual assault the thugs engage in, there's never an adult, a security guard, or a cop around. Linda Blair plays a tough teen who takes revenge on the thugs...in high heels (Blair--not the thugs). Not as violent as I would have liked; it had potential to make the revenge scenes with a bigger payoff but still entertaining. Terrible 80s rock soundtrack, lots of T&A, lots of foul mouth talk. This is American cinema!

Forget Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller
I'm sitting here trying to figure out how this isn't considered the greatest 80s high school flick, and I just can't do it. Linda Blair, Linnea Quigley, John Vernon, terrible acting, foul language, boobs, catfights in the shower, synth rock soundtrack, 80s hair, 80s dancing, bar fights, switchblades, crossbows, bear traps, razor blade and pill ear rings, a guy getting set on fire -- I could go on, but if you don't want to see this movie after reading all that, then go watch Moulin Rouge or whatever people watch who don't appreciate fine B-grade sleeze cinema. Also, mildly tongue-in-cheek review aside, if you've wanted to see this, take advantage of it being on Prime Video because the DVDs and Blu-rays are ridiculously expensive.

DARN......... I'M ALL OUT OF ARROWS!
Brenda played by (Linda Blair) is a troubled young woman with a knack for finding trouble at every turn. Repeated run-ins with her Principal (John Vernon) and fellow students are just the norm for this troubled teenager. One night after an encounter with the local street punks the "Scars" Brenda and her friends decide to play a little joke on the "Scars" to teach them a lesson. It's not long after their little prank backfires; that the "Scars" set out to even the score with extreme violence and brutality. After Brenda's deaf-mute younger sister played by former scream queen (Linnea Quigley) is savagely and brutally gang raped at school and left for dead by the "Scars", Brenda sets out to find each of the people responsible and settle the score on her own terms. Fitted beautifully in a black skin tight outfit revealing just enough skin and armed with a crossbow, Brenda goes on an all out rampage against the "Scars" and she quickly administers her own brand of vigilante justice. The 1980's provided fans with a variety of good vengeance films and the 1984 "Savage Streets" is no exception. The one thing that really appealed to me was that Lind Blair played the role of the hero really well and overall I really enjoyed seeing this movie again. I personally found the gang-rape scene near the beginning hard to watch, because the only time I ever saw this movie on television the rape scene had been excluded. After seeing it, I don't think it was really needed even though it did provide the catalyst for Brenda's character and the further development of the film. The subject matter, level of violence and the manner in which it is carried out will not be suitable for everyone. The film is rated R for a reason due to its graphic language, frontal nudity and graphic rape scene. Finally, I must commend BCI, Navarre Corporation Company for releasing "Savage Streets" two disc Special Edition for us Linda Blair fans. This film still suffers from some debris and speckling even in the new high definition transfer, but not enough to detract from my overall viewing pleasure. The real let down in this two disc version is the sound quality. There are times throughout the movie when the sound crackles and pops and it's definitely a nuisance at times. Given the great soundtrack, I wish BCI would have remastered the sound in Dolby Digital 5.1.DVD Features Include:- New High Definition anamorphic transfer (1.85:1) Aspect ratio- Interviews with stars Linda Blair, Linnea Quigley, Johnny Venocur, Robert Dryer and Producer John Strong- Three Audio commentaries:- Commentary One with actors Sat Landi, Robert Dryer and Director of Photography Stephen Posey:- Commentary Two with Director Danny Steinmann:- Commentary Three with Producer John Strong, actors Robert Dryer and Johnny Venocur- Trailers

Linda Blair never fails!
Savage Streets: Special Edition What a great blast fromt he past. I hope more Linda Blair movies are released onto dvd, especially Blu-ray. These movies pretty much were the nail in her coffin for any serious acting career but they are very enjoyable and good for the genre. Great watch, highly recommend! Savage Streets: Special Edition

Not region free......
.....it's locked even though this Code Red Blu-ray displays on the back cover that it's Region A, B and C. Until we have an official UK release I'll have to wait and keep my DVD. The film itself is exploitation heaven and I really hope that more of Linda Blair's films will be released on Blu-ray for the UK.
