Baby Safety Magnetic Cabinet Locks + Outlet Covers -No Drilling(4 Locks + 1 Key)

Okay, once again, I'm reviewing something I use for a purpose other than it was intended to be used. I haven't had any babies living with me for decades, and when I did, I never found them in my kitchen or bathroom cabinets when returning home from an errand or when waking in the morning. I remember someone supervising babies full time back in the day, making such exploration impossible for a baby or toddler. I've had a cat who, for years, never noticed there was anything inside my cabinets, but recently was adopted by a feral kitten who is into or on top of everything! These locks are my second set of identical magnetic locks now, and the first are all still working well, and the adhesive is holding very well. I have seen some negative reviews due to the adhesive failing, and I recommend cleaning the surface with hot soapy water, dry, then use some 91% isopropyl alcohol to prep the surface this is to be stuck to. I'm 6' tall, over 200 pounds, and I have forgotten I'd installed them occasionally,and yanked hard on the door, with no failures or adhesive problems. I recommend these to anyone..cat or baby owner.

These do a great job! Much easier to install than those other ones that require a drill, almost impossible (well they were impossible) for me to install in drawers, These were a piece of cake and I am no engineer.NOTE: The packaging for this childproof product was pretty much adult proof! (I could barely figure out how to get it open! My scissors were not sharp enough to cut through it!) It is kinda funny and ironic how their packaging with me probably represents the frustration my infant now has with trying to get into the drawers (MWAHAHHAH!! Finally I can take the duct tape off my drawers!)

I cannot use these, as the upper piece of the latch requires a horizontal surface several inches deep at the top of the cabinet. Several other reviews have mentioned this, and the vast majority of kitchen cabinets I've seen would not be compatible, since the doors are typically mounted on frames. Now I read that these are new and improved with an upper piece that will work with the narrower frames. Well thanks for nothing. I'm stuck with useless locks and out $15 bucks. The cheap-o spring-loaded arm latches work better than these, because you can actually mount the catch for the latch.

I really wanted these to be the answer to my prayers. My now 14 month old discovered cabinets months ago so I was looking for a solution and after much research decided on these. I rent so I needed something where I didn't have to drill in cabinets and make holes. These were much harder to install than I would have thought, had to have help. Part of the plastic piece that goes inside the cabinet had to be cut off in order for it to work. Was a bit of a nuisance to have to grab the magnetic opener every time but that I can live with. Worked good for about 2 months, but now the plastic has broke off of both cabinets just by him trying to open them one day and now they open freely again. Was not the answer to my prayers...on to the next hopeful "solution"

Product is okay. Did not want to have a screw drilled in my cabinet so bought the magnet. Sometimes it's hard for us (parents) too to open the lock. Baby is 16 mth but strong enough to pull the cabinet door even when the lock is in place. So it is a mixed feeling review; in part its good and in part its not.

These cabinet locks are amazing. First, they are very easy install. I was able to do 20 cabinets/drawers in less than 15 minutes, including the time it takes to clean and prep the area first. They come with 3M tape already attached, so all you need to do is peel and stick. Second, I love that they are hidden, so my kitchen doesn't 'look' childproofed. And third, they work really well! My son cannot open the cabinets if they are locked, no matter how hard he pulls (which he hates of course), but they are very easy to unlock with the magnetic key. And an added bonus for me is that they can be left unlocked so you don't need the key to open them. I actually use this feature a lot more than I thought I would, for example when putting away groceries or prepping a lot of food while my son is napping. Overall, a great product. I recommend them to anyone needing to childproof a kitchen!

Got these to help when our friends' kids come over. Easy to install. Work well. And they have a latch you can flip to keep them "off" until needed. Which is great since my husband and I are big kids and can go under the sink whenever we want. ;) As other reviewers noted, they don't work well if you have a drawer over the cabinet and no ledge/space to attach the mechanism. We got around that because our cabinets have a large lip on the side and we could attach the hardware there instead of above.

Poorly designed, if you tugged even a little the cabinet would pop open. Plus you have to keep the magnetic handle nearby to "unlock" it. If it actually did work, and you misplaced or lost it, you couldn't get your cabinet open without breaking the lock off. Save your money and get something that works.
