Stratego Onyx Edition

This set uses the orginal rules, the peices are of a nice solid high quality and I love the foil look of the board. Comes packaged really well no complaints at all this is how a Stratego set should be.

The last of the games I wanted to complete my Onyx Edition Collection. Now all I need is to have a game night with a tournament of all the series.

The pieces fall over very easily. Every other version of Stratego I have played avoids this with better designed pieces. These are perfectly rectangular with a very unstable base to height ratio. If you enjoy or think you might enjoy Strstego, get a different version!

This is one of my all time favorite board games which is why I spent so much on this set.The game pieces are good, solid well made... I think they are made of wood so those are cool.The board is not what I had hoped it would be...What exactly is onyx, I am not real sure but the board (although it is not cardboard) was not what I expected.As long as you are not expecting a (heavy) board made of some wood or onyx or something other than plastic and cardboard then you will not be dissapointed as I was... I still love the game and it is pretty cool... Just keep your expectations in check...

Unlike other cheaper versions with plastic pieces with stickers attached, the Stratego Onyx is sold withall wooden game pieces, just like the old games. The game board is framed in wood as well. The gloss coating over the game board protects it from normal wear. Overall, I have to give this an "A" for appearance and quality. I originally purchased this at Barnes & Noble, and with great delight. I can see why this is called the "collectors" edition!

Great fun for any 2 people, a little difficult for younger ones. Board and peices are very sturdy wood and i doubt that the foil will ever wear off or anything but they have a tendency to tip over on you. We spent half the time playing dominoes and half the time playing statego.
