It ran 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for 4 1/2 years until it just died. This is my 2nd Febreeze purifier and still a great purchase. The scent cartridges along with the filter keep my laundry room fresh with no cat litter smell at all. It is not whisper quiet and has the noise level of a small fan but it works and that was my only requirement.
