Very good reading
I read this book right after I read Mary's first book One Year. This book was even better than her first. The writing was much smoother, the story line was every bit as good as the first book and it was written in a much more cohesive way. Very good book!

Not fluffy!
Lots of misunderstandings in this family! The various people have their own narratives- and while that's normal, when the narratives are not compatible, it becomes a problem. The son thought of himself as the ONLY person who cared for his parents- and that was not true, and it caused a lot of conflict.(I have read several novels of late where a man gets a fixed idea about what is going on in his family, and is utterly resistant to allowing any actual data to contradict his fixed notions.)In this novel, anyway, people challenge the preconceptions, and that means that they eventually work out something good. In other novels, people facilitate the unreasonableness, and that does not work out so well.We are all emotional. We are all capable of objectivity- if we want to be. Do NOT allow emotional reactivity to screw up your life!!!

Great holiday read
I loved the characters and the realistic adult sibling relationships. This is such a fun read, you won’t want to put it down.

A real feel good book that reaches deep into your soul
Mary does not dissapoint her loyal followers with this heartwarming story. This is the perfect curl up on the couch Christmas novel. For the lovers of Oliver’s Well this is a real Christmas joy. I loved the movie and I loved the book even more. I’m so glad that Mary did not get lost or forgotten when Erin wasn’t a now thing anymore, but true and loyal fans of hers remain loyal and like me they can’t wait for things like this to happen.

Great Read@
I like the engagement of the reader from the beginning. Also, anyone who has experienced the loss of a parent will connect with the sisters' struggles as they deal with the loss of their mother.

I didn't love it
I was at chapter 13 when I almost could not read any more. The characters, especially the brother Daniel, are the most unhappy group of people. I continued reading and it started to show some promise in that the characters were at times less miserable. The end was nice, with a warm fuzzy feel. Unfortunately, for me, it was completely forgettable. Maybe I will watch the movie.
