Just installed it works well

Worked good for a month, now it may have a short.
I've installed this exit wand Nov/16. It worked good for more than a month but now it is blowing the fuse on my BFT Gate controller. Just to test, I've put an inline fuse on the red wire out of the exit wand and it gets blown right when power is applied to the unit.
