pretty good instrument
I like that you can adjust the accuracy, as with all thermometers of this type. However, moving the clip is extremely difficult (almost impossible at first). It is difficult to read because of angle, unlike those I used when working as a barista. I do appreciate, now that I am much older, the over-sized dial, which is what I bought it for. I also love the color coding.

I like the style
It works perfect. Make sure that you have a steam cup larger than a 20 once. The shorter version would be better for the smaller pitchers.

Best milk steaming thermometer around!
I absolutely love this thermometer. I own a coffee shop and have tried many different thermometers only to find they have small, hard to read dials, or that they are slow to react to the fast temperature changes that happen when steaming milk. The large dialon the Barista Basics is big and easy to glance at while you’re barista is engaging with customers. And it’s super accurate - which means less accidental milk boils and less wasted time re-steaming milk.

Melted on 1st use
The plastic cover melted on its first use, I placed it on a pot of milk being warned to 165 degrees for 15 seconds, that was enough to warp the plastic lens which popped off, and the plastic lens holds the digits in place so now the digits just spin around like crazy making it impossible to both calibrate, keep calibrated and use ever again. Maybe the pirate logo is a sign that this is a pirate product.
