Wild View Cameras Trail Camera adjustable ground spike

Very pleased with this ground spike. One of the trail cameras on our badger vaccine round had a ground spike similar and for flexibility of placement I was very impressed. Took a little searching on Amazon to find amidst low range poor looking items.But this is a nice aluminium spike. Good clear instructions (put the spike in the ground first, then the central camera mounted attachment slips in which is height adjustable).Compact and portable but gives good height above grass. This will be very useful.

Good mount for a trail camera. Easy to adjust height, its black so doesn't stand out. It will need soft ground though, as not easy to put into hard ground. Height from ground to bottom of camera is approx 17"

Like the ability to extend and feel robust, supports the camera well

I use this in conjunction with a tripod ball head camera bracket which enables very accurate positioning of my wildlife camera as I move it around the garden to track visiting wildlife. A very convenient method of positioning the camera in our medium sized garden.

Very easy to use. Screwed into my trail camera fine, as it seems to be the standard screw hole that would normally take a tripod. Could easily adjust height by several inches with the knob on the side of the post.I wanted to be able to stand my wildlife camera in large flower pots so it would take photos of the birds visiting the bird bath. This worked great!

You need to be extremely careful with this spike. Mine lasted only one day. I admit it was my fault, either I over-tightened the camera on the screw thread or I pushed the camera into the ground at a bad angle. Either way, the screw thread snapped off, and it was sheer luck that I was able to remove the broken thread from the camera with a pair of pliers. I repeat, be very careful. At around £15 including postage, I am not going to risk buying another one; I’ll strap the camera to the tree like before.

This spike has been a great help but it is only short and camera is only about 16” off the ground. There is some rust around the screw thread at the top. Could be a lot sturdier and taller but having said that I am glad I have it. Gives wonderful freedom in placing camera around the garden but may still need to attach a locking cable to something nearby.

Well worth purchasing. Use mine with m trail cams on a private conservation. Been nudged by badgers and deer and still stayed up.
