These kind of took me aback when I saw how big they really were. But that is okay. They are sturdy and will hold a lot of files. Standard hanging files fit nicely and the top edge will hold then in place and not leave me with papers falling all over the place because the top edge didn't keep them secure. The price is reasonable. I think I can get at least three years worth of tax records in one box. These would also be handy for storing any kind of documents that you want to hold onto for years. Because they are clear and have a marker label on the end it is easy to ensure that whatever you put into them is identifiable. This was a good buy. Amazon shopping for storage bins is certainly easier than wandering from store to store looking for the right size, shape and composition. I really do like Sterile products. However, apparently they are not sturdy enough for the travel from where they come from to my office .Frequently they arrive with cracked or broken off corners. The last time I ordered two sets of 4 filing boxes. One set arrived in perfect shape in a box labeled Sterilite. The other set arrived a day or two later in a plain box which was about an inch smaller, and three of those four filing boxes have cracked or chipped corners. There is usually one cracked or chipped corner in one out of every 6-8 filing boxes. I don't have time to return these large items.
