Still going strong years later
Ive has these sheets for probably 15 years. The same ones. I was surprised to see them on amazon as I purchased them online before I even knew amazon was a thing (quite possibly before amazon WAS a thing) and I figured you couldn’t buy them anymore. I didn’t even know I could wash them to revive them!! I’ve never washed mine and they’re still working really well. I live in a very dry climate and in the dead of winter I get minimal static on things like fleece, but it’s never been too much of an issue. I’ve always used both sheets in each load (those were the instructions mine came with) and they work really well. I came to amazon to try to find them today because I’ve finally decided to get a second set for when my son has the original set in his clean laundry pile for days on end. I need a backup set! But I still plan to use my very old set - they still work great!!

Ideas for Getting the Most out of these Dryer Sheets
I have purchased these static eliminator sheets from this company before, as well as similar dryer sheets from other vendors over the years. All by themselves, I think the dryer sheets probably reduce static some, but I do not know how much. I have found the following improves the static eliminating quality of the sheets. When they first arrive, I "quick wash" them. I have noticed new ones tend to feel very smooth. When washed, they tend to feel slightly rough, but NOT in a way that would damage, snag, or otherwise harm the laundry. Now and then, I feel the dryer sheets for that very slight roughness. When the dryer sheets start feeling smooth again (which can take many months), I wash them. The slight roughness seems to improve the static control of the sheets.I put a couple drops of essential oil on the inside of the dryer sheets. By putting the oil on the inside, the oil does not come in direct contact with the laundry, so I don't worry about the oil possibly leaving a stain. I have no idea if any essential oil reduces static, but I can make the laundry smell great and switch what oil I want to use from load to load.I spray the outside of the dryer sheets with vinegar. Vinegar definitely helps reduce static. I spray both sides of the dryer sheets and how much I spray depends on how long the laundry will take to dry. I rarely have any residue vinegar smell when the laundry is dry. The few times I have noticed a faint odor, I know to spray less vinegar on the dryer sheets with that type of load in the future. Over the years, I have seen people recommend vinegar in the dryer to reduce static; these dryer sheets finally gave me a way to add a controlled amount of vinegar to the dryer without a mess.

Not magical, but I can tell if I didn't use it
I'd searched for several years for something that would reduce static without leaving carcinogenic particles behind on my laundry, and this is by far the best I've found. While wool dryer balls are great at reducing dry time, I haven't found they do a thing about static like they claim to. Liquid, eco-friendly fabric softeners, while fine for softening effect, likewise have no discernible effect on static. These, on the other hand, genuinely do. It's not magical; if you've got a load with a bunch of polyester fleece and you over-dry it, there will be static. But for a regular load, mostly cotton, that gets pulled out right at, or slightly before, bone dry, these make a big difference. I find I generally need both sheets, but I've been using them with a family of four for about a year now, and they're still going strong. I'll be buying them again if these ever do wear out.

Works well, except with low humidity
In the summer, when humidity levels are moderate, this product works very well to eliminate basically all static from the laundry. In the winter, when humidity is low and static is at its worst, it does not work very well (though it still works better than no sheet at all). On very dry days, even using both sheets at once won't get rid of all the static when disposable sheets will.In short: if you live somewhere where the humidity stays reasonably high, this product is a no-brainer if you want to reduce waste. For climates with low humidity, it still works, just not as well as disposable sheets, so you may want to consider keeping a box of disposable sheets around for really dry days.Edit: I've had this product for about a little under a year now and moved to a new place. I am not sure what exactly change made the difference, but these sheets are working perfectly this winter.

I don't know why these work, but they DO!
We are getting a whole lot less static in our dryer loads than by just using the wool balls or fabric softener in the rinse. We have never used fabric softener sheets. The instructions say that if you do find static in some of your clothes to just run these sheets over the clothing and both of us have found that this works. I have no idea what the science is behind these things, but they do the job. No more hanging our clothes when still damp in order to stop the static!

Farewell to disposable dryer sheets
I had been using disposable dryer sheets for a few months, and I was not happy with the results. The clothes weren't static free, despite all the chemicals I was using trying to get them that way. We have eczema in the family, and I wanted to stop using them, and when I started cloth diapering, I knew it was time to research alternatives.I looked into dryer balls but there was such mixed reviews about them, and I just didn't know what to make of them. Then I found Static Eliminator Dryer Sheets and decided to give them a shot. It's definitely better than not using any dryer sheets, and it's not worse than using what I had been using before. Technically, name brand Bounce may do a better job, but I'm not sure.I have a mixed load of laundry, with lots of synthetic fabrics like polyester, rayon, microfiber, and they fare the worst. But I don't have the massive static shocks I was getting when using no sheets, so it definitely helps.I have no idea how noticeable it will be when its 500 uses are up. But thinking about it, if I do 10 loads of laundry a week, I'd have about a year of use. Not bad for a chemical-free alternative. The jury is still out, but I don't regret this purchase for the reasons I bought it.
