VTech Flipsies Sandy's House and Ocean Cruiser Doll House

I am not sure how these have such good reviews. Yes my daughter likes them, but they stop working after a few weeks. We first bought Sandy with her boat. The interactive points stopped working within three weeks. We have bought three other flipsies since then and they all have the same problem so I know it cannot be something random. My husband and I figured out why this is and it is a design flaw. The batteries are in the head of the dolls and the magic points are on their feet or bottoms. The dolls also fold at the waist so they can sit down. So that means the wires to control the magic points go from the dolls head to its feet, but when you fold the doll so it can sit the wires become pinched and break. The idea of these dolls is great and my daughter loved playing with them for a while they worked but after going through so many I cannot buy any more and I do not recommend them.

My daughter was very excited to get this boat. She has other Flipsies play-sets and it was a nice addition. My daughter really likes the boat/house. She plays with the boat with her other dolls and puts Sandy at all of the other magic points on her other play sets. She did not like that there was no toilet in the bath room, but the bath tub and bed was a plus.I am not exactly impressed with it. It does not seem to be as sturdy as her other play-sets, she has the vet center/tree house and the tree house is built better. This boat came with more parts to assemble, and stickers that took extra time when my daughter just wanted to play with it. Some of the pieces wouldn't stay on, like the zip-line chair that is supposed to go across the top of the boat. It didn't stay in place very well and when it is in place it doesn't work. The dolls just sit in it or falls out if you push it. There are parts that do not have a lot of room for, like the bed, and the table that two dolls can sit at. If you put Sandy's bed by the bath room then you have to move it in order to change it to a boat. Also there are some really tiny pieces, two knifes and forks that are so tiny they almost got lost right out of the box.On the plus side, it is cute the way the dolls talk to each other at the table. My daughter found it very funny some of the things they say. It is also nice that each doll says something from their own personality at each magic point. My daughter had fun putting the different dolls on each magic point to see what they would say. If your child or the child you're buying for has a few flipsies dolls then it is a nice addition since there is enough magic points for about 8 dolls to be engaged at once.Overall, it is a cute toy and my daughter enjoys it. I'm just glad I got a great deal on it on Amazon otherwise it would be going back to the store. I really do not think it's worth the $40 retail value.

I recently purchased this toy for my daughter's 4th birthday. The whole Flipsie's line is very well thought out and all of the dolls seem to work with the other Flipsies toys that are sold separately, some more than others. My only dislikes about this product are the number of small pieces that could have easily been attached to the toy instead of meant to keep coming off, specifically the front rail to the boat and the purple support for the chair swing - that also acts as the support when you open the boat up into the house. Other than that, I expected small parts. We have had to put many of those away because we also have a 2 yr old and a very mobile 5 month old in our house, so we'll save those for a later date. Other than that, great toy. My daughter loves it and she loves to change the hair and clothes on the little dolls and pretend all sorts of different things. She was never into Little People, so I worried she wouldn't play with this, but she does, and so does her 2 yr old sister.

I have five kids, four of which are girls. Non of them have ever been big on playing with barbies or small figurines. At times they think that they are (usually after playing over at a friends house) and so I cave and buy the small animals or polly pockets and then I end up stepping on them and throwing them out. Not these though! These are AWESOME! I bought this along with several other Flipsie sets for my four and five year old for Christmas. They were wanting dolls and these have been perfect! They play with them all the time! They love changing their hair around and seeing what all of the different plug ins will say! We were playing it with their 2 year old cousin yesterday and I was surprised at how easily she was able to switch the dolls around! I am excited to add more to their collection!

We have a lot of Vtech toys but Sandy's House and Ocean Cruiser was our first flipsies set. We have Clementine's Birthday Party and Bakery too now. This toy is a lot of fun and my daughter loves to play with Sandy. She was delighted with the toy when she received it for Christmas. She loves stickers and had a lot of fun with placing them on Sandy' Ocean Cruiser. The toy converts from an Ocean Cruiser to a house. There are a lot of tiny parts and I was a little worried about those, but they are durable and she has not lost any.Sandy says a lot of phrases when you press her necklace and she also speaks when she is placed on the several magic points. The toy has provided her with unlimited entertainment and all was going well until a few days back I noticed Sandy was not talking on the magic points. She did respond when her necklace was pressed. I ordered replacement batteries but the problem persisted. I was not sure about a response but I mailed VTech telling them about the problem as the toy was fairly new.They told me to inform Amazon about the problem and that they had an agreement with them for replacement if it was a product issue. I mailed Amazon exactly that and the next thing I know, I get an email and notification of replacement shipment. My daughter was very happy when she received the replacement Sandy. A special shout out to Amazon and VTech for amazing response and customer service.
