Excellent, excellent, excellent!
I've owned a number of phone mounts over the years and all of them have something to be desired. Whether they are unstable and shake when hitting bumps or leaving a gooey residue on the back of your device (I'm looking at you, GripGo), I have pretty much wasted my money on all of them. This mount is completely different. It does not use a traditional suction cup, but instead uses a rubbery, sticky disc to adhere to a window or dash. Once placed into position it is absolutely staying put. In fact, I would recommend selecting the location you want to mount it and then test placement first before actually affixing it as it can be tough to remove. CAUTION: be wary of applying this to thinner dashboard plastics. I actually a portion of my dash flexing when I tried to reposition the mount...it sticks that hard.Once the mount is placed, you can rotate the base of the "stem" of the holder around to it's desired position and then turn a dial at the base to lock it into position. Once secured you can then adjust the actual mount itself that holds your device to it's desired position and then lock that into place as well by turning a small bolt to tighten. The mechanism that actually holds the phone is a very robust "pincher" type of clamp...sort of like a gigantic chip-clip. I have an absolutely ENORMOUS smartphone (LG G FLEX) and this mount holds it just fine, with a little room to spare. Note that it takes some hand strength to open the clamp (the spring inside is very strong), so some folks may have some trouble opening and closing it to insert/remove their device.Overall, this seems like an extremely robust mount that solves many of the problems of lesser option, and while it is not perfect (can be hard to open the clamp, limited adjustability options), it is the best one I've ever used. My device absolutely does not move when locked into place and can be applied to surfaces that are not perfectly smooth. Good stuff...woukd buy again.

SO FAR VERY HAPPY
So far of day one im satisfied, I first wiped down the dashboard and window with hand sanitizer and then let dry then put unit in place. The suction is strong and the phone clamp is strong but not to difficult to open . You need 2 hands one to open clamp and the other to hold your cellphone while taking it out or putting it in ...its no big issue . The neck of the base flex wobble a bit on bumpy roads but it's no big issue. The only complaint that I had is when you tighten up the pivot ball nut it does not get tight enough to hold the phone at a desired position. But that's no big issue all you have to do is put 1/4th of an inch in length of black electrical tape on the pivot ball and then reassemble back together. And now you will have a stronger pivot ball hold. I have the galaxy note 4 with the Otterbox defender case on it and it fit with no issues. I also noticed that when mounted on the dashboard you have limited downward tilt. So therefore if you would use your phone as a dashboard cam it will not tilt down enough and show to much of the dashboard. But if you will only be using your cell for calls and navigation while its mounted on the dash then your view will be fine. But if you mount it on the window you will get the best view of both worlds. ...dash cam and navigation . Oh and to remove it easy just turn the knob to the unlock position and then pull up on the little rubber tongue that's sticks out... PULL SLOWLY.

Worked great... until it broke.
I really liked this product. Stuck very securely to my dimpled dash. However, I got to my car this morning to notice that the entire assembly had broken. It appears the pin that secures the rubber suction grip to the rest of the unit is simply plastic and snapped at some point. Not sure if this was simply a defect in my unit or a design failure. Overall I liked the product and will probably try another.

Needs significant improvement
Good idea - poorly engineered.I specifically purchased this for use with a Samsung Galaxy S5 to hold the phone in landscape mode. This is very close to the largest device that will fit in this stand. This holder is designed for a dash that slopes towards the driver. If the dash slopes away from the driver as it does in some SUVs and pickups, it becomes impossible to adjust the screen towards the viewer. This problem is compounded by the way the device is held. The bigger the device, the further the holder tilts the device away from the viewer. For Galaxy S5 users - the arms of the clamp are position such that the phone has to be held off set or the clamp arms will press down on the on/off and volume buttons. There is more than enough tension to activate the buttons even through a case. The biggest problem with this holder is the design of the arm that the device clamp attaches to. The arm is thin and the material isn't particularly stiff. This means that the device bounces around in the holder to the point that anything on the device screen is unreadable. The amount of movement isn't trivial. In a SUV on the highway, without hitting any bumps or potholes, the device will move back and forth AT LEAST 1/2". Pretend your device is being held by a bobble head doll and you'll understand the problem. This could be fixed by either making the arm heavier or using different material or both. My professional opinion would be to do both.As a side note, I purchased a 5" Garmin GPS with their very similar goose neck dash mount and installed it in the same vehicle, drove the same roads at the same speed and had absolutely NO issues with the device 'bobbling' around. This is obviously a flaw specifically with this holder and not an issue with all goose neck designs.I can't speak for the suction cup yet as I've only had this installed for a couple days. It appears to work as advertised but the real test is what happens after its been in the sun for a few months and then gets cold in the winter.Over all this is barely a D- product. This product has a basic engineering flaw that exists AFAIKT solely to save the manufacturer a tenth or two of a cent in material cost.
