The instructions come on a tiny sheet or ribbon of paper, so difficult to see that I had to use a magnifying glass. The instructions are hopeless, and actually wrong on one important point. I found that the instruction for getting into the record menu does not work. Then I discovered that you can open the menus by pressing up / or down once and then the SAVE key; this works, but is not what the instructions say. I wasted hours trying to ascertain that I wasn't doing something wrong. The most important menu requirement is switching the device between normal recording and and VAR (voice activated recording). Now that I've overcome the problem with the wrong instructions I think it's a great little device and extremely useful, but the slightly technical options in some menus might not suit some users, and the instructions are a disaster.
