Fantastic!
Excel VBA and Macros with Mr. Excel is just what I have been looking for for several years. I have been writing and working with macros for my job for some time. Editing previously written macros has been fairly easy, while creating macros from scratch has been time consuming. I have several Excel VBA references in print and have used the free online training courses from Microsoft. Those types of products work pretty well, but the part that was missing for me was a real course-type presentation of the material, where it starts out with some of the basics and progresses into organized application of the parts. This product logically presents the topic, and presents step-by-step examples of how to create "good" macros. The supporting Excel files for each lesson are very helpful as well. Bill Jelen is a dynamic presenter and the videos are extremely well done. Finding a knowledgeable person who can also be a captivating presenter and instructor is such a rare find.

Clear lessons that fill the gap in your VBA knowledge
I love Bill Jelen's Live Lessons on VBA!!! I have some knowledge of VBA, but I still consider myself a beginner. For someone like me, the Live Lessons are ideal. I think that the lessons might be too difficult for someone with absolutely no knowledge of VBA. I also think that this is probably not very challenging for someone with intermediate to advanced skills. The lessons are clear. He explains how to use VBA simply and precisely, and provides very helpful hints throughout. Each less on is short and not too much to absorb. This definitely filled the gaps in my knowledge of VBA, and I believe this will help me boost productivity.I am a big Bill Jelen fan. I am also a big John Walkenbach fan too.

Definitely worth your time!
I have been an Excel user for about two years now and have been writing Macros for the past year. I picked this software package up so I could learn how to make my Macros perform better. I decided to actually go through the entire program from Lesson 1 all the way to the last lesson even though I know the majority of the knowledge in the beginning. By lesson 6 I already picked up two very useful pieces of information that I used the following day at work.Definitely worth the price and I will be buying more Livelessons software.

good teaching.
He teaches in a exhilarated fashion, but the good part is you can play back to the parts you may need help with. his language is simple and easy to understand, all I can say is take notes.

Excellent Reference and teaching guide. Its easy to see why they call him Mr. Excel. The material is laid out in a straightforward and logical manner which is easy to understand. I became proficient doing some simple VBA solutions after finishing this course. The practice exercises really help you retain what you learn.

If you want to learn excel vba buy this and spend the time on it.
This is a wonderful course. Very clear, step-by-step presentation. I have only three small quibbles:1. The image cannot be changed to a full screen.2. The introduction of errors in the code. To be sure, they are fixed later but they annoy me to the point where I pay less attention.3. I never want to hear, "Let's get started." again.Worth every penny....Bob

Waste of time
Each video has a 60 second advertisement for Live Lessons at the beginning. You purchased the product, then you need to endure 30 commercials (one before each lesson). Next, you can't watch these on your iPod because the font is so small. I admit that most people will not care about this. But for some of us that commute, and want to watch the videos on a non-computer monitor, forget it. Even on a big monitor (I have a 24") the font is small and hard to read. The Flash video is problematic for Mac users. Even on Windows the Flash player can be problematic. But my biggest complaint was that there is little actual VBA teaching. Most of the lessons are watching Bill show non-VBA stuff in Excel. I am a VBA expert, but am always looking to learn more. And I did pick-up a time or two. ... but watching these videos was boring. Wait till the price drops to $10. Not worth much more.

Excellent Intro to VBA and Macros
I highly recommend. I am new to macros, for such a minimum charge, you get a wealth of introduction and knowledge. The person in my office spoon fed me and seem to never really explain. So those who need a good intro at minimum expense so that you can go on to actually perfect the knowledge, go for it! Buy it!

best dvd tutor for VBA, especially slow learners like me. . .
I have been struggling with VBA for many many years. I have bought a dozen books. . .What is good about this DVD, it is like real life tutoring 24/7. Easy, user friendly, step by step. I have a few of Bill 's DVD like "Slide Your way through Excel VBA". It is good but this is The Best. Bill managed to step into the shoes of a beginner and hold our hands along the way. He has a good clear voice, speak slowly and clearly. He gets us comfortable starting with Macro, slowly move us into the real power of VBA. This enable us to first build the foundation which is very important in order to Excel. I would recommend to anyone who is interested in learning VBA without pain. Cheers, Doris Choo -Ontario, Canada

Another great MrExcel product
This is the third 'livelessons' DVD that I have bought and they are all very good.Excel VBA and Macros with MrExcel is already available in two books (one for Excel 2003 and the other for Excel 2007) - this DVD is presented using Excel 2007. However, Excel VBA is basically the same regardless of version but of course there will be differences when accessing and using the new features of the later version. The DVD comes with a 125 page booklet describing the lessons and giving code examples together with supporting workbooks for the lessons. Although created in Excel 2007, it should be possible to open the files in earlier versions by installing the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack (check this out on Microsoft's web site - kb924074).For anyone wanting to learn VBA this is going to be great. It is easier to learn by watching a DVD and following the examples than trying to learn from a book, although I would suggest that buying the book also would be a bonus - you can pick that up to browse anytime and anywhere.Highly recommended.

Video teaching is perfect for those who learn by watching
Video teaching is perfect for those who learn by watching. I've only watched a couple of lessons but that was enough to make me want to continue to watch more as the concepts are explained so well! I would say if you are an intermediate excel user, then this product is perfect for you as you do need to understand how excel works. If you are an excel beginner, then forget it, the examples will be too advanced for you to follow. Nonetheless, once new excel users become more familiar with excel and want to advance to macros, then this is the perfect introductory course to it. I highly recommend buying this product either for learning purposes or quick reference.
