Sebastian Molding Mud, 2.5 Ounce

This stuff is great. I used to use it in the late 80s/early 90s. It smells the same, feels the same and works the same. It is not greasy or sticky but does leave a little minimal residue if you run your fingers through your hair. Take a small dime sized amount and rub it between your hands until the product melts, then run your hands through your hair where you want it. As the product cools, it sets. It can be reset with the warmth of your hands or a quick warm blow dry. Washes out easily too with no residue. A quality product. You get what you pay for.

Not exactly like it was in the 80's: a little smaller, less sticky. Works very well. I can style my hair, holds in place all day. I don't get plastic helmet hair, don't look slicked back. Can run your hands through hair.

I have used this product for years & have been asked what I use on my hair to make it look like it does. I have recommended it many times. It gives your hair a little lift with just a little dab. Don’t ever quit selling it!

I never tried this stuff in the 80's like others, so I can't compare that. I have lightly layered my bangs. When you run this product through your bangs, it kind of gives a piece, windblown look that I really like and try to get. The problem is, the bangs will be in my face within moments if I don't use hairspray. I'm not a big hairspray person anymore. So I use it to help my bangs stay back and look nice, and so as not to be flat, then I clip them.My hair is very thick and very heavy. Even if you have short, fine and layered hair, I still don't see this product having a strong enough hold to get through the day. I guess if you waxed your hair up or back into shapes, it may work but I'd expect still it would give out after awhile and you'd still need spray product to hold it in place.What I think I'm most pleased about is how a small amount makes my bangs look, that the fragrance is mild and not bothersome, and that it washes out easily. I've never noticed any buildup after using small amounts of this over days.

I used Molding Mud years and years ago and thought that maybe Sebastian stopped making it. I found it by accident while scrolling on Amazon, ordered it, and had my fingers crossed that it hadn't changed - I was pleasantly surprised that it still has that wonderful scent (not a very strong scent at all, and it dissipates very quickly) and it leaves you with a manageable next-day hair feeling. It doesn't dry your hair out at all! I love it!

I’ve used this since college, and it’s still my favorite product for my curls. It just takes a little, but it gives big results.

Years ago a hairdresser introduced this product to me and during the pandemic I have gone more natural, bye bye blow dryer for now. So I found this again and it is great. After wash and conditioning, I put this on my wet hair. Small amount (like size of a quarter) rubbed in your hand to remove any granularity is all you do; Then rub throw your hair and let dry. Voila! Result is natural, wavy body with some curl, depending on your length. I might blow out any bangs or small areas that fly away.

Incredible texture without the crusting…and I just love the clean smell.
