ABUS 64TI/40 Titalium™ Aluminum Alloy Padlock Keyed Different - Nano Protect Steel Shackle

I bought this for lockpicking practice. The keyway has good warding and is very pick resistant. The particular key on mine have has very good bitting, and in my experience nearly all Abus locks I have used seem to have good bitting.That said, this lock can be shimmed with no skill whatsoever. I have heard it claimed that the tolerances on titalium locks are too tight to fit shims inside, but while the shackle holes are a fairly tight, I had no real difficulty shimming this, so that good core is all for naught.The fit and finish on the body is good and the lock operates smoothly. I have little doubt that the shackle is as well hardened, but its resistance to bolt cutters is probably limited by the relatively small diameter. The aluminum body and spring loaded locking pawl would probably not stand up well to brute force attacks, and I suspect a few solid blows with a hammer would make short work of this. I would only trust this for low security applications.

Made in China... you'd think that paying 14 bucks for a puny lock would get you one made in Germany (Abus is German). Nope.Build quality looks average, maybe a little below. Very light because the body is made from aluminum.I use it for my gym locker.

I ordered 2 of these, mainly for my gym locker. It's an attractive, secure lock, all that I hoped it would be. And notice it says "Titalium", not Titanium.

As you can see in my photo this is not 51/64 inch wide, it's just over 1.5 inches wide. I carefully selected this after two hours of shopping as the most secure lock that physically fits my use case, but that was all time wasted and now I must go through the hassle of returning the lock. Fix your damn product photos.

Nice for a lower security lock

Good quality, used it for lockers at hostels when I was travelling abroad. Wish it were slightly cheaper.
