Description
- It has been 32 years since the remote forest area of Limni has produced this exceptional pine honey. It is akin to the extremely rare Vanilla Fir. For a honey of this rare calibre the weather conditions must be absolutely perfect, as this year, with just the right amount of humidity, sun and precipitation. It could be another few decades before conditions are again so perfectly suited for the production of this phenomenal honey.
- It has a wonderful thick, velvety smooth texture and a strong, quite pungent woody, caramelly flavour with slight citrus undertones. It is golden in colour with swathes of colour, again akin to the mother of pearl effect of the Vanilla Fir (of which there is none this year due to adverse weather in the Mainolo mountains, Peloponnese)
- Because of its low Ph and high concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide, this honey effectively combats a broad spectrum of bacteria (anti-bacterial) and viruses (anti-viral) and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. It is ideal for throat diseases and general respiratory problems, and has diuretic properties. Pine honey has a rich mineral content, which includes potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, iron, and sodium. This honey has one of the highest percentages of antioxidants of all Greek honey.
- Traditionally produced on Sinanoglou's small rural farm. No pesticides, chemicals or colourants used at any stage of production. Unfiltered, unheated and unpasteurised.
