Bluefusion Bfgmk Hands-Free Bluetooth Integration (Select GM Vehicles)

Product is OK, does what it promises but does have limitations
Owning several other vehicles with built in Bluetooth functionality and even some aftermarket audio systems, I got spoiled being able to have multiple phones or devices sync/stored. The Blue Fusion doesn’t allow this so if you have multiple drivers, only the primary’s device can be stored.Additionally, Blue fusion only displays the number, not the name additionally you only see the number when you go through the menu functions to view call history. Blue Fusion does not display the contact info for active calls. While its nice being able to make hands free calls, the device is limited and the functions are cumbersome. I find myself initiating and taking calls directly from my phone and using the Blue Fusion simply as a hands free speaker phone. The interface and functions are too distracting and thus defeat the primary reason for the device. Would also be nice if they allowed you to integrate with the stock Onstar mic, so you don’t have to run and mount the additional mic.

Scosche - BlueFusion is Awesome
BlueFusion rocks and works perfectly in my 2007 Silverado with XM and Nav! In addition to regular phone calls, I can stream Slacker, Pandora and even YouTube from my iPhone 4s. It's exactly what I was looking for.Installation was a breeze, just watch the videos on YouTube and you should be good to go. Please be aware I did NOT need the extension cables as indicated by Scosche if you own a Surburban or other SUV. I also carefully removed the overhead console (unit with the lights, sun roof controls and garage door opener)and installed the BlueFusion microphone in place of the On-Star mic which I no longer use. The On-Star mic just pops out and sits nicely next to the opening. I used the windshield attachment (with adhesive backing) and a couple of tiewraps to help hold the BF mic in place. It works perfectly and you don't see the mic! I'll try to get a picture of it and post it seprately.Scosche Technical Support is top notch too. I called them before I placed my order on Amazon to make sure I was purchasing the correct unit (BFGMK). They were very helpfull! A couple of days after I recived the unit (purchased new from a seller on Amazon) it developed really bad high pitched whine (engine capacitor noise) and low level hum. It was intermittent and affected both phone calls and music streaming. No problem... I called Scosche Tech Support and had the new one in hand within a week. I did have to ship the defective unit back first which is to be expected. There was also a painless RMA form to fill out. All in all a simple, easy process.

Never could make it work reliably
Bought this for a SUV. The SUV has the XM radio mounted in the back so I also had to buy the BlueFusion extension cable kit. After spending the time to route all the cables to the front of the car and following the procedures to wire everything up the device never worked properly. After reconnecting the batter, when connected it would cause errors on the Radio, generating error messages and disabling the XM reception. It also caused airbag warnings on the dash. After reconnecting and retesting the device multiple times and getting no response in my online support queries to the manufacturer I gave up. I simply have not had the time to chase down the customer support to try to fix this or get a return.I was really looking forward to using this device, it should be great it just didn't work for me. Perhaps the long extension cable kit I need to use in my vehicle is causing problems?Because this product never worked for me I would not buy it again.

Nice to have hands free
I was really excited to use this after Best Buy Geek Squad suggested this one. I hVe a Suburban LTZ and they hid everything by the mic which is right above the rear view. The feedback I have gotten is that I sound like I'm in a tunnel and that's a bit disappointing. But to be honest - I'm not sure if there is a perfect "after market" kind. My husband drives an Audi with Bluetooth built in and it's flawless.

Works great easy to install and use
I purchased a 2007 Chevy Tahoe. It had all the extras, but Bluetooth. I can't imagine the Tahoe with DVD / Navigation not having Bluetooth, but that's another issue.I read reviews that said it only took 10 minutes to install. I found a company locally that recommended this unit, but wanted $ 400 for it installed.I paid $ 90 ish, but it only took about five minutes to install the unit. I took a little longer for the mike, I ended up trying it on the steering column. It seem to work there ok and it was easy to install there. If you want it in the headliner it would be a much bigger project. I would hire someone to do that installation.

Fantastic!
I was impressed how quickly this went together. A quick disconnect of the XM and plug in the T plug, pair it and you're on your way! The only difficult part was routing the microphone, but that was my own complication; I wanted a stealth install and put the microphone in the overhead console. If I would have mounted like the directions say, the whole install would've taken 10 minutes. Crystal clear sound through the speakers and my test calls were crisp. I was pleasantly surprised the microphone was noise cancelling and was able to filter out the full blast AC. Great product!

Excellent interface
The system has a few issues and sometimes cannot change back to satelite after a call.Instructions are not as clear and you need to have a good understanding of technology before using this product. But, once you have mastered it, the product works well and better than most products so called "built for GM's.
