Bluefusion Bfhak Hands-Free Bluetooth Integration for Select Honda Vehicles

I have long delayed to write this review having tried hard to get this unit to work in my 2006 Honda Civic Si. Before I purchased this unit I tried carefully to verify on both the manufacturer's website as well as on Amazon that this was the proper unit for my make and model of vehicle as well as the type of audio equipment (OEM) installed. The claimed integration with the Civic's audio setup was so attractive that I plunked for this unit, took it promptly to BestBuy and had it installed by their trained technician for an addition $135. Soon thereafter, I bought an iPhone 4S and found an absolute nightmare to maintain pairing between the Scosche and this phone. Scosche tech support did reply promptly to my calls and emails but were unable to help me. I jumped through every recommended hoop, including taking the car back to BBuy, having it removed to do a 'complete reset' and then reinstalled --> same problem. Scosche says they will only give me a replacement unit; but I'd have to pay to have this installed again, and I'll have no guarantee that it would work any better than the unit I already have. If you want to buy a Scosche, be sure someone from their tech tells you that their unit has been verified to work with your car's audio unit by SERIAL NUMBER, as they only verified compatibility Bluefusion Bfhak Hands-Free Bluetooth Integration for Select Honda Vehicles  with certain iterations of manufacturers' units, apparently. And there's no guarantee that a new phone's blue tooth implementation will work with the Scosche, believe me. Bottom line: I wouldn't buy an installed after-market BT device but get one installed by the factory or dealer who will pay you every dime back if it doesn't perform with your phone (and verify this, too, before you buy the car.) Too many complications otherwise! I have found other users having trouble maintaining pairing between Scosche units and iPhone 4S (on apple user sites. Check what I am saying on those sites before you pay big bucks on this Scosche unit.)
