By the time I realized that, however, it was too late to send them back. So I went looking for something better and ran across these HD boots. I'm 54 and know my usual size of footwear. But boot sizes seem to have changed in the last 10 years or so. I normally wear a size 8.5-9 wide in regular shoes/boots, but this time around I decided to go big or go home. I bought these boots in a size 10 in order to be sure I'd have enough room so that I wouldn't hurt myself again. Man, am I ever glad I did! They're perfect! Lots of room in the toe for my fat feet to spread out in and a very comfy, cushioned sole that I was totally not expecting. I'm not a Harley rider - I own and ride a metric cruiser - so I was reticent at first to buy these because I didn't want to look/feel like a poseur or a wannabe. But, I have to say, these are some very sturdy, comfy riding boots! Who really cares who makes them? No regrets! I would suggest going a full size higher than what you're normally used to, especially if they still offer them with the 7-day try on arrangement. That way you can always send them back for a half or full size smaller, if need be. But, more likely, they'll be perfect.
