Seem to do a good job
Easy to use andIt's hard to know if it's cleared the chimney but it did clean off the the glass deposits on the log burner so presumably has done the job. Time will tell. Reasonable price for 2 and I used a few days apart

Good interim cleaning product. Does not replace regular sweeping.
Easy to use (but I had to look instructions up online as not clear on pack).Light a normal fire in your enclosed wood burning stove (not an open fire) and enjoy it. Leave it to burn right down to embers. Place the cleaning log on the embers and leave it. It will flame initially and then die down - it is still working even though it might look like it’s gone out. The following day you will notice some residue in the ash, and the fire brick inside the wood burner will look cleaner, as will the glass. Clean your fire and use as normal. Use another cleaning log within 2-10 days for optimal effect (apparently). We noticed the fire is burning hotter and lighting easier. We plan to use it again. It is not a substitute for proper chimney sweeping, which still needs to be done regularly to protect your chimney.

Not sure the remains actually disappear up the chimney
I'm not sure about this product. I put it in my stove, as per the instructions.I had already cleaned my chimney a few days earlier, but I decided to treat it to one of these before I started using the stove every day through the winter. The details on the box seem to say that the residue is removed up the chimney along with the smoke from the fire, but after only a couple of days, my chimney was not drawing up as it should, so I swept it again, and a fair bit of black, fine powder came down the chimney.I have swept my chimney many times, so I know what my soot normally looks like, and this was a finer dust, but quite a lot of it, so I am putting this down to these 'logs.'Now, I'm not saying it didn't loosen any soot from the sides of the chimney, and it may well have done that, so it might be that it cleaned old soot off that my brush did not get, hence I have given it 3 stars; but I didn't expect it to cause so much residue to be left in the chimney, reducing the draw. It required me to sweep the chimney again to get the fire drawing up properly.I may use the logs again, but because of this experience, I will probably only use it at the end of the winter, to help loosen the soot, prior to sweeping it the good old fashioned way myself.

Wish there was more information
Wish there was more information on the use of this product, it simply states that the log should be placed in the fire and ignited, there is no information as to the amount of air that should be used ie how far the dampers should be opened, Think it should also be noted that nowhere on the packaging is there any mention of the high heat that is generated during combustion and the ferocity with which it burns.
