Wont last the 10 years stated on product packaging
Great bulb that performed as described with one Major exception; the box states 10 year life but warranty is for 3!!!Mine lasted 3.5 years so now because they dont make this exact bulb I have to buy ALL new bulbs for a 6 bulb fixture!!! No thank you Philips, I'll buy a different brand and take my chances with them.

Good for Camping
The color of these lights are perfect. I hate super white lights. I find that the amount of light given off is roughly equal to a traditional bulb of 60W and the CFL bulb of same rating. The bulb itself is relatively cool temperature, roughly 100 degrees F (in climate controlled space, 78 degree F ambient). However, the middle part between the bulb and the socket base does get very warm. This is the part that says Phillips on it in the picture. My cheap-o laser temperature gun says it gets to nearly 190 degrees F. That's a lot hotter than I hoped it would be for my use. For most this is not a con, and will never be an issue. I am using these in my camping canvas tent, however, and wanted a bulb that was at most just a little above ambient temperature. This was the whole point of getting LED for me. As it is, this is still much lower temperature than traditional bulbs, and less than CFL bulbs. If heat is a concern, LED is the best you can do for now. Be warned, however, this actually does put out some heat. I also tested in my garage. 90 degree F ambient. The bulb reached 110 F, while the middle part went just over 200 F. The middle part, basically, could not be touched. These do give a lot of light for a small wattage, which does lend itself well to camping situations where power is limited. Some people may prefer something whiter. I do not. The color is very much like your traditional bulb of soft white, which is highly desirable for me. Much less tiring on the eyes and feels warmer (without actually being heated by the light). When its time to buy the next set for camping, I might try to go with something under 40W eq. Hopefully, those will operate much cooler.

Quality, efficient, bright!
I use these as outdoor lighting. They are sturdy and well made (being Philips), and have never needed replacing yet. Super product!

Great Bulbs
Update: Clearly spoke too soon. One of the bulbs came DOA in a box that I recently bought. Philips support is terrible to even get ahold of. They insisted that this was a Hue bulb which it is not. They take about 3 days to reply to each email, if you call they don't speak english well enough to understand. Finally after a week and a half of being run around they tell me I need to contact Amazon... Well Amazon points me back to Philips. These are great bulbs. I've never had an issue with one. I replaced every bulb at our old house and our new house with these. We had them for over 5 years at our old house and didn't have to replace any of them and our energy bill went down about $10 a month. So naturally I bought them for our new home.I've never had any issues with these. They do tend to hum or buzz but it really seems to be isolated to the fixture they are installed in.

This is now the standard bulb for every light in my house
About a year ago, I ended up purchasing a single pack of these to try with a few light fixtures. Not only were these bulbs inexpensive, but I could not tell the difference between these bulbs and a 100W incandescent. Philips did a good job with matching the color, warmth, and brightness of a standard incandescent bulb. Two months ago, I bought 8 packs of these to replace every single light fixture in my house. At about $3/bulb, this was a cheap way to make my entire house more energy efficient, and I can see an immediate return in my electric bill. This product also has a 10-year life (based on 3 hours of use per day). I doubt I'll have to touch any fixtures soon like I would with incandescent or fluorescent.Pros:* Energy efficient (8.5W power draw)* 10 year life (based on 3 hours a day)* Equivalent in color to incandescent* Equivelent in brightness to 100W incandescent (packaging says 60W brightness, but honestly think it's closer to 100W brightness)Cons:* Expensive starting cost, but this is quickly replaced with energy savings.

Great LEDs - Anyone know where to find LED bathroom vanity globes?
Bought a 4-pack of these to replace 3 CFLs in lamps that are on 12 hours/day (or more) on the assumption that the incremental efficiency gain may be worthwhile. Good brightness and color, no defects so far. Back when they were the "new" thing, my electric utility (Duke) provided boxes of 60W and 75W equivalent CFLs at little or no cost. So I've got semi-efficient CFLs in most fixtures, but figured these three high-usage CFLs might be worth replacing with more efficient LEDs. Obviously, the LED's are superior (instant on, lifetime), but probably not worth replacing in low-usage lamps.Altready replaced the high-usage flood over the kitchen sink with an LED, but the real problems are bathroom vanity lights (20 globe bulbs in 2.5 baths). These burn out frequently, and I haven't found LEDs that even look like replacements - at any cost. Suggestions?

Very Good Product Over GE Brand.
So far I believe this is a more superior product than the GE equivalent. In fact, from decades of experience I believe Phillips has always put out a better, longer lasting product than GE. I don't even know why I continue buying GE brand bulbs; likely as a result of marketing persuasion. In about a year I'll try to remember to contribute an update to see if things are still going well for these bulbs. I know the GE-brand equivalent burned out in less than a year. My usage is such that it operates on a timer from about 4pm to about 11pm every day, so that's about 2,500 hours. Based on that usage, the bulb should last a little over 3 years. Oh, the color is really wonderful for me, as well. I don't like that blue-ish white light cast.
