I wear a straw hat in this style during warm weather and was looking for something similar for winter. This hat is nearly perfect. It's supposed to be packable, and that might explain the packaging. The hat came crushed and misshapen. After letting it "breathe" for about 3 days, I steamed it over a boiling tea kettle and shaped it by hand. The only thing wrong with it now is the hatband, which is a weird mauve shade - not as brown as the picture. The manufacturer's name is on the hatband, too, and I'm not crazy about that.Once it returned to the right shape, this is a great looking hat that is all wool, water repellent, and made in USA. The Oxford Mix is a medium gray with lighter and darker flecks. It's really interesting. The brim is wider than I expected, but fits the proportions of the hat very well. It looks and feels like it will last a long, long time.

I got this for my boyfriend the hat is beautiful it is also water proof which I didn't know I ran it under water and the water just beaded off. I thought though the brim would be more structured or firm but it's still a well made hat it doesn't flop around and gold structure very well. It fits as expected and I think it can be worn as a women's hat to a little over priced but I love it.

The hat can barely be called a hat. So flimsy. Bought this as a gift for my father. He wanted a felt black hat Like Sinatra would wear.This hat came in an envelope lined with bubble wrap. I am not sure you would even ship a baseball cap that way. Came flat as a pancake. Not lined so to get any kind of shape into it and hold its form was impossible. For $120.00+ definately a rip off! So upset. Cannot be bothered to spend more money to return it. It hangs on his halltree as a reminder to us "Buyer Beware"!

The hat is great but the people who sent it, sent it in a bag!! Therefore it was wrinkled. I am contemplating sending it back. I am giving it a chance to reshape, but hats should be sent in a box with a spacer!!

The hat is wonderful. We have three of them, but never had them shipped in a bag that was totally crushed. It took putting the hat in a damp washer that had just finished running to start to come back to shape. It took over a week. The shipping really needs to change. I would give the hat a five if that had not been the issue.

There's a pokie thing in the sweatband that's kind of annoying. Also don't really like the material the sweatband is made of. If you sweat even a little the band feels just wet all around. Not sure how to describe it but never had that problem with my other 10-20$ hats. Costing over 100$ I guess I was just expecting more comfortability. It is a nice looking hat don't get me wrong. Never got more looks than I do with this but change the sweatband material for Christ sake

This hat was a Christmas gift for my husband this year. He needed an upgrade to his professional appearance and this hat really looks nice on him and coordinates well with the dark brown collar on his new topcoat.The hat is very well made and well finished. The look is trim and refined- handsome grosgrain ribbon style trim with a simple flat overlap and subtle attached trim. The edges are nicely bound and very attractive.It fits well and he likes it a lot. I think he looks very handsome in it.This hat comes in a variety of colors, but I really like this one called Serpent. It is neither truly brown or truly gray making it a very subtle and versatile accent to many colors of coats.
